Cabin was as advertised. View was better than expected. Location was convenient and quiet. We visit Ellijay every year with family and this was one of the nicer places we've stayed.
The location was a 10 for what we. wanted - the river in the backyard was amazing and we all enjoyed it! The cabin itself has the potential to be a 10 as well however, it needs some attention - it was surface clean which is what we expect with a rental home but, this one needs a deep cleaning soon or I'm afraid it's rating might go down drastically - the baseboards, window sills and painted walls all need attention. The covered back porch is one of the best features of the home but the cushions are worn and stained and in need of replacing. A deep clean and fresh coat of paint would greatly benefit this property. We would love to book this location in the future but would want to know that it had given some serious TLC before we did.
Our group definitely had mixed feelings staying at this property. The good: the price was good, the location was great, the actual size of the property was great for our group, and the river in the backyard was very scenic. The bad: This property was not clean and lacked basic necessities. I cleaned something up off the floor and removed a whole layer of just grime/dirt off the floor. We had to buy extra trash bags, sponges, and dish soap. There was half a roll of toilet paper for our group of 10 which was problematic for a multi-night stay. The owners left a note saying to use a specific type of toilet paper due to the septic system. I called VRBO to see what type of toilet paper the owners would prefer but VRBO was not able to tell me. The other frustrating thing was that VRBO said they would bring our group toilet paper for our stay which of course was never delivered.
Upon arrival we smelled a horrible odor and heard odd noises in the front guest bedroom, after closer inspection we discovered a bat nested behind the window frame. Maintenance came out and discovered a gap in the wall allowing the bats to enter but wouldnât be able to repair until after our scheduled checkout. We asked to at least plug the gap with something temporarily and so they did. They also advised us to close the bedroom door and not use the room, which wasnât going to be used anyway due to the horrible smell. Beyond the bat infestation the home needs a deep cleaning, spider webs throughout the home.
The creek view was nice and the home has tons of potential but needs proper maintenance.
We had a great time at the cabin. Checkin was really easy when we arrived. The only issue we had is that inside the house there was a buch of spider/spiderwebs. I know that we should expect that out doors but even in the bathrooms you could see the webs. Before we could use the patio furniture we had to wipe down all the table and chairs. Some of the cushions had mold on them which I understood since they stay outdoors. This was a family getaway to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday. Overall our trip was amazing. We loved the water in the backyard! We would definitely stay again. Just a heads up the driveway is pretty steep going down. Walmart and ingles are really close by. Cant wait to vacation here again.
This was a beautiful cabin and the location was amazing. It was hard to find with GPS and trying to get in touch with someone was nearly impossible. The cabin did not disappoint though!
Awesome location, close to everything in Ellijay. Home was fantastic, great beds, plenty of space for everyone. It was rainy and cold so we didnt utilize the outside fireplace or firepit by the river. Cool to watch the creek/river change color and rise with all the rain. Kitchen was well sto ked with everyrhing you need for cooking and gas grill worked great. Would definitely recommend this house!! We had 6 people with us and could have fit more comfortably.
This cabin fit our group perfectly. The cabin is on Mountain Town creek, a great spot and very pretty inside. There were a few items that needed addressing like most rentals, but overall our group liked the property and would rent again.
It was amazing we had a lot of fun it was really clean and it gave us Homie vibes we went to the river like twice and we did BBQ and over all it was a blast
We spend a lot of time at different VRBO's in N. GA and this was one of the best. Really no negatives as the kitchen was fully stocked, everything was clean and comfortable for us and 7 others between 15-24. Never even used the hot tub as we spent most of the time in the river. Didn't need to reach out to management once because everything was there for us, so that was good.
Go buy a few floats from Walmart ($6 ea) then float down the river a half mile or so. There is a dirt road on the opposite side to walk back, and we put in further up the river and floated back home...so easy! I will say that the driveway is steep but not terrible. Also its 76 stairs from the kitchen to the river (yes, we counted). Definitely got in our cardio but well worth it. We also brought some folding chairs and put them in the river to read books while the water cooled our feet. Will be back if schedules align.
What a beautiful, peaceful place! We were close to activityâs we enjoy ( boating, shopping, brew pubs, wineries, farm stores, the train). We spent one very hot afternoon just sitting in the creek and it was lovely.
The only downside was an ant colony in the downstairs bedroom and bath. Called the property manager who apologized that there was no pest control available on the weekends. But, she had maintenance bring us some spray which took care of it.
This cabin is the perfect place for large families. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for 12 adults and 4 children. The creek is peaceful either on the porch or sitting on the bank. The fire pits are awesome, all 3 of them! Perfect for making some SâMores and roasting Hot Dogs or just keeping warm by the fireside. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking too. Definitely a place weâd come back to for another family vacation!
