We stayed in October during the off season and had a wonderful stay. The neighborhood was quiet and the weather was incredibly beautiful. We loved sitting on the lower and upper decks, both of which have wonderful ocean views. The pelicans and sea gulls privided constant entertainment and we saw porpoise just beyond the breaking waves on our last full day. I would definitely stay here again.

Our host responded quickly to our queries and concerns, the house was clean, the upper deck a heavenly retreat in the evening, lovely beach access. One bonus: beds already made; after a 5-hour drive and schlepping everything upstairs into the house, we found that so welcoming! We oldies had a wonderful time!

Very well maintained and updated home right on the beach. Everything worked! Unbeatable views from the bedroom deck upstairs, or just from the upstairs bed itself. Although the cottage had way more room than we needed, every bedroom had plenty of room to maneuver and plenty of storage in dressers and hanging in closets. If I HAD to pick one thing that could use a little improvement, it would be that the knives could use a refresh. But that's just me being nit-picky. My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much and agreed that it was our favorite place we've stayed at the beach in the last 5 years (as long as we've been married). I thank the owners and managers for keeping this house up as well as they have, and for making our stay there very easy and enjoyable.

A wonderful location. Right on the beach. All the rooms were clean except the downstairs bathroom that had a musty smell and some mold on the ceiling. Told the owner and he said he would have it taken care of. Besides that, a very comfortable and convenient place to stay. 2 miles from a Dollar General if you need something.

Loved how close we were to the surf!! Usually have to bring the kitchen items to cook but all items were on site. Lots of entertaining choices between sand games (bocce, jenga..) and kids toys. Large decks to relax after spending hours on the beach. One of my best vacations!!

Wonderful

We absolutely loved our stay! The house was amazing and the first floor bedroom was perfect for my elderly parents. The beach access was as promised and the views were beautiful from the balconies! Neill was a delight to communicate with, extremely prompt with responses and reached out to make sure things were going well during our stay. We are hoping to plan another trip later this year and will absolutely be booking this again!!

Great upper & lower decks, very close to ocean

Classic beach house! Simply but comfortably furnished, with mattresses varying from firm to extra soft (something for everybody). Lots of TVs that we didn't use but also cards & games that we did. Good internetThe kitchen had what we needed, plenty of dishes & flatware, decent assortment of pots and pans. As with most places, it might be useful to bring your own nonstick skillet and a sharp knife. Appreciated that there was a regular coffee maker in addition to the Keurig. Nice to have an ice maker in the fridge, to! Loved the 2 ocean view upstairs bedrooms with doors out to the upper deck, appreciated that the decks connected with an outside stairway. Adirondack chairs on upper and lower decks are wonderful, but I spent even more time sitting in one of the tall chairs on the upper deck. Currently, the primary dune is high enough to barely block the view of the sand (but not the water) from the first level, so the best views are from the upper deck. Loved being so close to the ocean, closer than any place we've stayed! The boardwalk was really short, ending just before the small primary dune, which might be a challenge if you have a bad knee (I just had mine replaced & was fine). Surf fishing was meh, but that's been par for the course lately for us, even in spring. Captain Willis supplied us with excellent shrimp, and we also went to Swansboro one night for outstanding BBQ, fried oysters, and hush puppies at the Bogue House. We'd stay here again & again!

Great Weekend Escape

This beach house was conveniently located, very clean, attractively decorated, good lighting throughout, and had lovely outdoor sitting areas. There were even some cozy lap blankets for chilly mornings/evenings on the deck. The views are spectacular and falling asleep to the sound of waves was so soothing. The owner was great about communicating in a timely fashion and accommodating an unavoidable need to reschedule our initial reservation. Please note guests are supplied with sheets and towels, as well as hand soap, dish soap, and dishwasher pods. If you forget to bring your own soap for the shower or paper products to supplement the partial rolls of toilet paper and paper towels provided, there are plenty of stores nearby. We would definitely book this property again.

The view!!

Waking up to the beautiful view (from multiple rooms in the home) and hearing the ocean waves was breathtaking. Neill (host) was very accommodating and responsive, before, during, and after our stay. The location and convenience of being right on the beach was fantastic. A couple of screen doors need some attention, the dishwasher didn't seem to clean to well, and the couch could use a cleaning, but overall, we found the place to be cozy and comfortable, safe and peaceful. Will never forget that view!

Two thumbs up for second stay

Owners are very communicative and friendly. Property is well taken care of and clean. We love not having to worry about bringing beach toys or umbrellas. House is stocked with lots of things to entertain adults and kids. The best part being the things to entertain kids😝 It was our second stay and we enjoyed it even more than the first. Don't hesitate booking.😊
