Our family of 7 (grandparents, parents and 3 kids (5, 8, 10)) stayed for a long weekend in the fall. We take regular trips to Estes and it’s a fantastic vacation spot.
The home is in a quiet neighborhood, with great park access (meaning you don’t have to navigate downtown traffic to get there.) outdoor spaces are top notch, including a great deck, hot tub, and clubhouse for kids. All a hit! One thing to note is that the 7-7 noise ordinance is taken very seriously, so we didn’t use the outdoor facilities after dark for fear of an aggravated neighbor that was noted in literature at the house.
Inside was also well decorated, and beds/rooms worked out well. We had plenty of space and the access to washer/dryer is always a big plus.
There were a few downsides, mainly related to this being a VRBO that is also a home. We didn’t have enough dishes or silverware to go around for more than one meal, which meant we were washing up a lot. There also oddly wasn’t any Kleenex around (although plenty of all other staples were found). Finally, while kids loved the coloring books and toys/games, I kept feeling like we were using other folks’ stuff without asking.
Ultimately, it’s good to know that this is someone’s residence, not a full time vacation home, so it’s just different than where we’ve stayed before.
A beautiful place, great views, just a little differently appointed than we’d hoped.
