The place is very charming and unique. It felt like being in a fairy tale. Whimsical while also relaxing and peaceful. Neat architectural details. The yard is cute and the shady deck is great. The owners are kind and have thought of all the things one might need, and then added various thoughtful little touches to make the stay comfortable and memorable. Fantastic location near UofO, stores, restaurants, park and running trail, etc. Overall, it's a wonderful place and I highly recommend. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
The upstairs hideaway suited us perfectly â character, creativity, lots of natural light and wood. The whole place is refreshingly unusual and full of personality. Quiet neighborhood, but an easy walk to Hideaway Bakery and Temple Beth Israel. (Might not be ideal for people who donât know each other wellâbathroom door only partially covers the door opening, and the bed is about 7 feet from the toilet. But that was no problem for us.)
This was so unique and we felt like the architecture and design were efficient yet creative and we had plenty of room! All the decorations and the property were so fun and we would absolutely stay again!
It was a beautiful property and a very unique stay! I would not consider it dog-friendly - lots of stairs and the deer (while cool to admire as a human) were not interested in sharing the yard with my pup! I would also travel light due to the stairs. The host was more than helpful though, I would come back! Check in while the sun is still out, it gets dark fast!
I normally donât put too much effort into reviews but I feel an obligation to my fellow travelers to be honest. This is an upstairs âstudioâ from where the owners live. The stairs lead to the ownerâs living area. It is completely open and accessible to the downstairs main living area.
There is a shower door separating the bathroom from the bedroom providing no privacy. The bathroom was filthy upon arrival including âhairsâ and dirt on the floor of the shower. The toilet had not been cleaned and showed signs of âuseâ. Don was receptive when I told him about the toilet. He offered to clean it. Instead we asked for some cleaning supplies which he provided.
The towel rack came off the wall when I tried to hang a towel.
There are no window coverings at all. If you are a light sleeper, you will be woken up by light.
The yard is interesting with a pond and ample foliage but it is overgrown and not very comfortable. I would not sit out there.
This place is not worth the $300 a night we paid.
