You can't talk to the hotel staff in person; there's a virtual front desk with a person on the screen, which is of little help if you need, for example, some hot water. Virtual hospitality didn't feel very hospitable. Also, it is advertised as free breakfast, but breakfast options only include a couple of snacks, such as a muffin and a granola bar, which, in my opinion, should not be advertised as "breakfast on the go."

The motel is right next to the beach and was clean. The virtual check in was weird. It wasn’t needed, there was an actual person in the lobby but I had to talk to a screen. Other than that the place was great.

Didn't like that the staff was thru a kiosk and not in person. Not a great view of the beach, but good view of some homeless people set up in the parking lot between the beach and hotel. Room looked like it was having repairs done.

The room smelled foul and the bathroom had a terrible mildew odor. Sheets were rough. This room was overpriced. We left early because we were unable to relax in this room. We booked this room due to all the recent positive reviews.

Had to check in with a kiosk and was told there was a 100 deposit which I wasn't told initially. I did not feel secure giving my card or Identification to the lady in the kiosk but she said if I didn't pay the 100 deposit I couldn't stay there. We put our things in the room then went to dinner. When we came back, we were told by another tenant who was leaving with their luggage there were bedbugs. We went into the room and pulled back the bedspread and there were quite a few long black hairs in them, and the sheets were not clean. At that point we were disgusted because sheets had obviously not been washed. MY GRANDAUGHTER TOOK A SHOWER TO WASH. I went to the front office and told the receptionist i wanted a refund for the deposit and charge. I was told by her I had to get my things out before she would, then by the time I got back up to the room my card had been deactivated. my daughter was in the room so we could get our stuff and get out. I went back to the receptionist and she rudely said I would get my 100 refund back but . told me they sent out their linen and had no responsibility for it. Also she couldn't do a refund since i booked through a third party. We had to find another place to stay at 9:30 pm which was difficult and ended up driving to gold beach which was about an hour drive. Checked in at 10:55 pm DO NOTSTAY HERE, THE LACK OF EVEN AN APOLOGY AND THE FACT THAT WE COULD HAVE BEEN INFECTED WITH BEDBUGS IS VERY UN ACCEPTABLE!!!

This was a pretty good place to stay. Highway noise was loud. My check in took a while because the lady in front of me couldn’t figure out how to work the kiosk and there wasn’t a second person around, but then one arrived to help and it was good. Using the kiosk myself it was a nice quick checkout. Nice grass patch for dogs and a very short walk to the beach and a pier with some good eats and seal & sea lion viewing.

To check in you need to enter the lobby and speak to the agent on the kiosk. Personally, I did not like that and it felt impersonable--the agent was very kind and helpful, but to have to speak to a screen is unwelcoming. The receipt printout offered all the info we needed such as room number, checkout time and the grab-&-go "breakfast" times. The room was clean, but the tub had lots of black sand in it. There is a clothesline above the tub to dry your clothes. Outside the building to the side that faces the road is a faucet where you can rinse off sandy items and feet. The inn was close to the beach and several restaurants all in walking distance. Grab-&-go breakfast consisted of coffee or tea, granola bars and apples or oranges. There is no water filler that I could find to fill my water bottle other than the sink water in the lobby. Ice is located outside at the end of each outside hall. There are laundry facilities, but no place to get change; maybe the lobby does. The machines look extremely old. I went to the Dollar Tree to get some detergent and went to the laundry mat to do my laundry which is about 5 mins away from the inn. There are some eye sores within the inn like mattress covering windows, dirty sheet covering a window by the staircase-- I am assuming vacant rooms. I did need my room cleaned and requested service, but we did not return to a clean room and had to find someone for fresh towels; he was there within 5 mins. Would I stay again? Yes.

The motel was very close to the beach and accessible from the highway. I did not like having no one in the office at all, only talking to a person over a screen. Also, very minimal breakfast - "grab and go" as they call it.
