Our stay at the Twin River Cottage was exactly what I needed after a stretch of busy, stressful workdays. The drive in alone sets the tone—rolling green farmland that immediately helps you slow down and breathe.The cottage has an older charm (which I loved) and is very well maintained. It was incredibly clean, and it’s clear the hosts take pride in creating a cozy, welcoming home-away-from-home.After work each day, I’d sit on the back porch and decompress. At night—true silence, just frogs in the distance. It was exactly the kind of quiet I didn’t realize I needed.The location is also a huge plus—central to multiple state parks and conservation areas. My pup and I love to hike, so we took full advantage. If visiting during wet spring weather, bring extra towels and stay on top of tick prevention. (Given my pup's curious nature, a box of beach towels is always on standby in our vehicle.)The kitchen felt just like home—my favorite space. I enjoyed dinners at the bar and making my morning French press with ease. The cleaning supplies under the sink were appreciated!Check-in/out was seamless, communication was great, and the large laundry room (full-size washer/dryer) is a bonus. The yard is securely fenced—my very curious pup couldn’t find a way out. Just note: after rain, the yard gets muddy (natural creek bed), so plan accordingly.Overall, a peaceful, comfortable, thoughtfully maintained retreat. I would absolutely return!
