Other than the good location, quick messaging responses from owner, interesting collection of books and location, this rental was a nightmare: The promised unloading parking spots were occupied. We drove around for 30 minutes to find available overnight parking and paid 40 for 24 hours. The door key and lock are very old and extremely difficult to use. The place wasnât clean (cobwebs, dirty floors, dirty towels, cleaning supplies not put away). Bad lighting, decor and linens. This place has potential, but it needs some tender loving care: It was the worst vacation rental Iâve ever stayed in (and Iâve stayed in over 20 throughout the years). Itâs an embarrassment.
Accommodations were very quirky, in essence two big rooms one connected by a door to the bedroom/kitchen. No sunlight, windows were hermetically sealed.Upstair noises from other guests prevalent.
Great spot as long as you set your expectations correctly. This is a historic building and we loved reading the framed newspaper articles about what it was in its previous life. However, itâs an old building so be prepared for squeaky floors and you can hear the people above you (our neighbors were fine though so wasnt an issue). The rear bed is wonderfully comfy however, itâs the squeakiest bed in the world. The front bed could use some improvement and it isnât very comfy. The TVs could be bigger, but you shouldnât be watching TV when you have such a wonderful selection of books for all ages. Parking was no issue and we were there on a pretty busy weekend. Download the app and itâs only a few bucks a day to park. Thereâs a wonderful coffee next-door at haunted grounds and be sure to wander to their back deck and take a look down at the stream which appears to flow directly under the building through an ancient tunnel. This is a cool spot to experience once and ill probably book the one upstairs next time we are in town.
The pictures made this place look really cool, but it had ants and sticky glue trap mouse traps around the place. Games had no pieces. Door didn't stay closed unless key locked. NO AMENITIES AT ALL. There's one double sided couch for seating which isn't condusive for conversation. Loose floorboards would pop up and nails would catch on your shoes. I am all for rustic but this place looked cooler than it was.
The location of this property was absolutely perfect to walk to everything downtown. We also loved that we could bring our dog. For two adults and a teen, the sleeping accommodations were adequate. Thereâs plenty of room for more and bigger beds, though, which would be nice and needed if you had more people. The toilet, sinks, and bedding were clean.
Location is fantastic. You can walk to everywhere downtown. No designated parking, but paid lots close by. Rustic interior, old historic building. Comfortable stay for our family. So many fun books to read... like staying in a book store over night!
We loved the quirkiness of this place. The wall of books was neat to look through. The N64 Mario Kart almost ended my marriage though. Lol. Overall, for the value, we enjoyed our short stay.
You canât ask for a better location! Right on Main Street within walking distance of absolutely everything you would want to see in the main area of Eureka Springs! We felt so lucky that everything was so close and assessible. The apartment is so cool and different. So much space. Comfortable beds. If youâre a light sleeper, the street traffic might be an issue in the early morning
