Our stay at hideaway cove was excellent and a home away from home. The property was beautiful, the beds comfortable and rental was stocked with everyday items.
First impression was good. However, it was quickly revealed that the property was poorly maintained. There were numerous problems that were immediately apparent. A broken vacuum, the button holes in the oversized ottoman were full of trash and food debris. The toilet and shower in the upstairs bathroom wouldnt work. I contacted the host and made her aware of the situation. She was very responsive and offered to have a plumber come out. I declined at that time (I didnt know about the non operative shower at that point.) Over the course of our stay the level of disrepair was more fully displayed. The porch off the living room made a terrible crunching sound under foot and gave way a little as I walked. Two out of three bulbs were burned out in the downstairs bathroom. The towel bar in the downstairs bathroom was only set in place and not secured so that when you used it, it fell off the wall. The dishwasher wasn't secured to the counter so that when you pull out the lower drawer the machine fell out of the cabinet. There is an exposed pipe under the porch that spews (water/sewage?) Onto the concrete next to the porch swing whenever a toilet is flushed. Being on the lake you should expect spider webs on the dock. That is a given. But the boathouse/dock was absolutely covered. The screen porch on the dock was obviously not maintained, with rotted boards exposed nails and hills of dead bugs.We were comfortable dispite the shortcomings and had a good time.
We loved our stay at Hideaway Cove! Grandkids loved the fishing, swimming and air hockey table. If you have trouble with stairs it might not be for you. We didnât mind the steps. The dock has a screened in section that is great for relaxing out of the sun and for our little ones too. Would definitely stay here again!
The back property and view and dock and water access, air hockey was so great!!! My kids truly loved this trip! There are ALOT of stairs that were hard on the older family members. We will forever have these amazing memories at this beautiful property!
Hideaway Cove was the perfect place for our long weekend family get-together. It is secluded, yet only a few minutes from town, so grocery shopping or dining out are no problem. Having living areas upstairs and downstairs worked very well when it was time to get the littles calmed down for bed. (Calming down happened downstairs because the TOYS are upstairs). The rooms are large enough for our group of 9 to enjoy one another without feeling crowded. Hideaway Cove is warm, cozy, and peaceful, and we are looking forward to another stay during warmer weather. :)
Holli was so accommodating and answered ALL my questions. :) The place is cut into two levels with living spaces on each. The kids loved the air hockey table. The hammock swing chairs on the screened in dock were my personal favorite. Thank you for such a wonderful time!
The upstairs and downstairs made it very comfortable. It allowed for the older individuals to be upstairs and not be bothered or inconvenienced by the younger family members.
This house was perfect for me and my brother to stay and our SIX kids. The air hockey and fooseball table were a hit! We loved that the floors were separated so that the adults could have some quiet time and the baby could nap. Also a huge bonus was having a crib there so I didnât have to pack something for the baby to sleep in. The only âissueâ I had, which really wasnât an issue was the ottoman in the living room had not been vacuumed out and it had dog hair and food in the dips of the ottoman. I knew however this was a dog friendly place so I just got the vacuum out and vacuumed it myself, no big deal! Would definitely stay here again!
The house was very nice and very well equipped. There were A LOT of stairs! If you have older folks like we did, it was not that easy for them get around. But there was plenty of room, and anything we could need! I'm not sure we would stay there again because of the stairs, but for a younger group with good knees, it is a great place! The boat dock and screened in area was really nice too.
The property was just fine. House was roomy. Lots of spaces to visit inside and out. I just wish I had paid attention to the stairs. It was hard for the matriarchs to do those steps. But they made it. Wish there was a handbook on sight to tell about community stores, restaurants and community events. Maybe an exit list left on site so manager doesnât have to send one. Holli was fabulous!!! Will use her again. Probably next year but use a house with no steps.
We came in for the Dixie Youth World Series in Ruston Louisiana and this house was perfect!!! We enjoyed the air hockey table and corn hole boards. The view is excellent. We would definitely be back if it wasnât so far!
This house was perfect in every way. Plenty of room for everyone to stretch out and have their own space. The kitchen was the most well stocked kitchen we have had in any rental. Beautiful patio and the kayaks were a big hit with the kids. The host was quick to answer any questions I had. Would definitely stay here again.
