We had a terrible experience at Docâs Place. I was traveling with my 18 month old daughter. The cleaners were still inside at check in. We were left standing outside for about 30 minutes with our bags. The exterior gate was broken and kept locking us inside the property. We actually got locked in with the cleaners the first day. I called the host twice asking for assistance and they did not return my calls until the 2nd day - after VRBO had to get involved. The gate opens to an alley where there are some âunsavory charactersâ. Since the host did nothing to repair the lock, I had to leave the gate unlocked so that we could go in and out of the property without getting locked in or out. There was always a man camped out right at the gate - either sleeping or just sitting there. It felt very unsafe. On the second day, there were two men inside the property - right outside the kitchen window. They said they were storing items in the basement and the host should have let me know they were coming. They were given the access code during my stay - again, not secure, not safe. The host was very hard to get ahold of after the visit. I paid over 600 for two nights and they begrudgingly gave me a 75 credit - terrible customer service. Previous reviews also complain about the lock. Iâm sure itâs still not repaired. Please avoid this place if you are concerned about safety. The host does not care and will not assist.
