My family stayed here over Christmas break, and it was exactly what I needed. I could have spent all day on the deck, soaking in the breathtaking long-range mountain views. We encountered a few minor issues, none of which were the hosts’ fault, and they were incredibly helpful and accommodating in resolving them. The hosts were highly communicative and made us feel like the space was truly ours. Please note that the road leading into the neighborhood includes a newly rebuilt, single-lane bridge that allows only one vehicle to cross at a time. The road up to the house is an unpaved gravel road, but despite the weather conditions we experienced (which did not include snow), my two-wheel-drive SUV had no trouble making the trip. They even had a small tree set up with a bin of ornaments for us to decorate as a family. The location is just a 15-20 minute drive to Boone or West Jefferson, both charming towns that we enjoyed exploring during our stay. We also had a blast playing ping pong, air hockey, and darts. One of my favorite activities is traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway to take in the views. While a large portion was still closed for hurricane cleanup, we were able to access it to reach Grandfather Mountain. Although I would have loved to explore more of the Parkway, I was thankful that part of it was open for us to enjoy.I would absolutely stay here again and wholeheartedly recommend this place to my friends!
