The hotel's location was convenient. We had an interior room which was quieter. The second night of our stay, we did not have hot water and the water pressure was low. I told the front desk about it. They fixed the issue and the following day, the water pressure was back to normal and the hot water returned. Also, on the second night, we had a lot of mosquitos in our room. The front door to the hotel is kept open at all times so it's not surprising that mosquitos get into the hotel. However, I did not expect to have mosquitos in the room. After killing four big mosquitos in the room, I went to the front desk to tell them about it. The gentleman at the front desk said he would tell the owner. Meanwhile that night, I slept with a blanket covering me from head to toe to not get bit by mosquitos. The next morning, when I walked past the front desk, the gentleman was still there and the owner also was there. He mentioned to the owner the issue with the mosquitos in the room. The owner said that she places items that plug into the outlets to keep mosquitos away and that they would place it in my room but they never did. And the next night, there were still a bunch of mosquitos in the room. In the past, I was bitten by a mosquito while on vacation that transmitted Dengue which I told them about but they did not understand the seriousness of the mosquito-borne illness since they did nothing to mitigate the mosquitos in the room. I will not stay again.

Alex was on reception when we arrived and was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the included breakfast was fine. We booked the hotel on the run as we arrived in florence early due to the impending transport strike. Perfect for our needs.

Our favorite hotel in Florence

Wonderful as usual. We stayed here before. Allessandro at the front reception is always friendly and chatty. We love discussing the Mio Miglia w/him. The breakfast buffet is wonderful- the gal who manages is very efficient and kind. It’s peaceful here yet you are close to all the sites and the train station. The only thing is the beds are harder than we like😬. Restaurant below has great food for dinners

This hotel was a lovely surprise - clean, excellent location, good breakfast, friendly staff- all of the things! Just remember there are a few stairs- a lot of old buildings can’t be outfitted with elevators!

Hotel Abbazia 3/5 Ok It’s okay… right in the middle of everything so it was convenient and you can walk everywhere even to the train station. 5 min walk or less. There is no elevator so that part sucked they had Stairs everywhere. Also., room door was very very hard to open i tried to use my entire body to push open with key in and it was so difficult I got a bruise. Rooms had windows but no net., bathroom was nice but the main mirror was oddly placed in the bathroom luckily there was a mirror outside of bathrooms to help with any vanity needs. Not a lot of counter space. Staff was very friendly though. We got the triple room one king size and one twin size bed: they had these large curtains that hung right above the twin size bed it was annoying. Overall, it was okay especially for the price.

The hotel is 5 minutes walk from train station, very convenient . Close by anything we want to do/see! Staff were friendly and helpful. The only complaint is the hotel sign were not stand out. It took us a bit of time to look for it.

Staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and took extra time to help us search for restaurants, tours, etc. The room was very big, clean and in such a great location. I can not recommend enough. Great place to stay.

This stay was incredible. Very close to the Duomo, market, excellent restaurants. Alessandro was an absolute pleasure. There is no lift, but service was great, and assistance with my unreasonably heavy bag was provided with pleasure. Cozy rooms as to be expected in the part of the city but the location,service, and charm can't be beat. Busy area but quiet in the rooms. Comfortable bedding (which is not always easy to find in Europe). Great value. 100% recommend.
