Fantastic location right on the Piazza della Signoria! Lots of character! Amazing, authentic property! Loved the hot showers , comfortable beds & cleanliness. It was so convenient to have a washer, dryer & kitchen while traveling.
When we arrived after a long trip from the US, the owner said we could gain access through a virtual key, but we did not have internet access when we arrived because we were using US phones and Whats App for communication. We went to the pub next to our building in desperation and he to let us hook up to his internet and try to access through the VIKey system. We found the directions very confusing. After numerous phone calls to reach the owner, we finally called VRBO directly. VRBO was able to contact the owner who said she would send someone to meet us at 9 a.m. the next and day to address our concerns . We needed to know how to link up with WI-FI, use the washing machine and adjust the air conditioning unit, no instructions. The owner sent her cleaning woman who tried to be helpful but did not speak English. We managed communication with her using the translate app. We felt bad that she had to shoulder the burden of frustrated renters. We continued to have trouble with the key throughout our stay. There also was only one set of keys for us (two couples). At times, when we wanted to do different things, we left the door open a crack to enable our friends to gain access. We strongly suggest that the owner change the entry process. It really hampered our stay in this rental. Also we noticed other reviews addressing the same problem and the owner did not seem sympathetic at all.
Beautiful apartment right in the heart of Florence. It was really nice to have a kitchen! Many restaurants and shops very close by. Make sure to explore every street. Digital check-in is challenging but we figured it out.
The place was darling. We had difficulty figuring out how to get in and out of all the various stores. We had some trouble with the remote key. The location is great!
Loved our stay here, right in the middle of Florence, across from palazzo Vecchio. Great apartment. Great location. Perfect for families. Would highly recommend!
Fantastic Stay! Apartment was accurately described , very clean, spacious, and perfectly located. We had everything needed for our 5 night stay. The hosts were responsive and accommodating. We highly recommend.
Apt was good, great location, walking distance to many sites. The only issue we had was spotty WiFi upon arrival & we were unable to open apt door. Check in instructions indicated that if we were unable to open the door, we could call the phone numbers listed & they would open the door remotely. But no one would answer @ any of the 3 numbers we called. We kept trying until were we able to get WiFi signal & access apt. A representative did text message us a couple hrs later to see if things were going ok.
This apartment was the perfect compliment to our family trip to Florence. From the amazing location in the Pizza Della Signora, entering the huge wooden door gave us the feeling of being transported back to the Renaissance. The place is well stocked and furnished and was surprisingly comfortable given the antiques. Given the location it can sometimes be a little noisy at night as tourists stumble home after too much wine but we found if we turned on the fan the white noise and our long days of touring made it easy to sleep through. Small hiccup at check in as we were on the wrong floor (European elevators start at 0) but we called the host and it was quickly resolved. I would highly recommend this place for small families staying in Florence, we had an amazing time.
Loved our stay at the Time Machine. My questions prior to booking were answered quickly. Booking process was straightforward. Check in was a minor challenge but again, assistance was available immediately. The area is perfect and central to many attractions. This made our time in Florence very enjoyable.
We enjoyed the apartment and location. All four of us had challenges with mosquitoes. We did not open the windows because there were no screens. I would charge more and install screens. The noise at night from the square was disturbing- more than we anticipated.
Otherwise it was positive
We were in Florence in October and had perfect weather, so really were out and about the entire time. This property is historic and we found it special to stay in a place that is so authentic. The location is incredible and just footsteps from historic spots in the city center.
Perfect apartment for two couples exploring Florence for the first time. Good sized bedrooms and a decent sitting room and kitchenette. And in the most perfect location ever!
Just one recommendation: please add a colour key for the recycling bins. We had no idea what was meant to go in which bin.
Our stay in Florence was one of the best travel experiences I have had. The flat is in an authentic, well-maintained palazzo whose massive wooden door opens directly on the Piazza Della Signoria. Despite being located on a popular tourist piazza, the flat was quiet. The bedroom windows looked out into a lively side street, but still - the rooms were quiet at night. We had two generous bedrooms, as my husband snores and is a restless sleeper. Everything worth seeing - including shopping, dining and museums and sites - was within an easy 5 to 10 minute walk from the dwelling. We were a12 minute walk from the train station and the Fortezza da Basso, where we were attending a medical conference. Grocery stores were within 5 minutes walk. The flat has all the modern conveniences and everything is in good working order. There are 2 TV screens for viewing on a quiet evening. The flat decor was the most charming - rustic -style with floor tiles, dark wood furniture, large wooden ceiling beams and dark -iron beds with crisp white linens. The kitchen was well-equipped. The hosts were quick to respond to any and all questions. I highly recommend this lovely accommodation.
