Overall, my stay here was ok. The property itself is pretty and overlooks the lake. I also had a balcony room, which was nice. I only stayed here one night because I wanted to take the shared shuttle to get to Belize. My flight from Guatemala City arrived very early, at 7am, and I went to the hotel hoping to get an earlier check in before 3pm. They allowed me to check in at 1pm, which I was grateful for. I explored Flores on foot and went to Maracuya restaurant for breakfast. My only issue with the experience wasn't necessarily the fault of the hotel, but the town had experienced a power outage and there was no AC. It was super hot and humid, and I was very tired and miserable.
We had a hard time finding the hotel using GPS directions. Had to ask police officer. When you get off the bridge go left and first tight into very narrow street and right again and you will see hotel straight ahead with blue columns. If you see parking on the street park. Hotel does not hVe parking. It is street parking.
The property is beautiful, very clean, the AC works really well. The breakfast is very good. Lots of beautiful areas to hang out. Easy check in easy check out. Stuff is very nice. They also offer fluit infused water in the lobby.
If you are taking tours it is very close to the meeting point.
The Maracuya cafe was super super nice. It is 2 min away from the hotel.
We stayed at Hotel Villa del Lago because the hotel we usually stay at in Flores was full. I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean, reasonably priced, provided a free breakfast and airport transport, and the staff were friendly and accommodating helping us plan a Tikal visit for one of our colleagues. It has a nice balcony and breakfast area overlooking the lake and was not on the busiest part of the island so a little quieter than some other hotels. It will definitely be on my list for future visits.
Great air conditioning plus a ceiling fan! Shower took a minute but got hot. Nice views and tasty breakfast. One of my favourite hotels during my trip to Guatemala.
Was good for what other properties was available. Reasonably priced. Waking distance to restaurants and Tikal go for tour bookings. Hotel does offer your bookings as well.
