Very nice, well laid out home. Beds were comfortable. The third bedroom with two twin beds was perfect for our granddaughter since it was right next to the king bedroom where we slept. A couple of places where the floor was soft and a little uneven but that is not uncommon in older homes on the second floor. Bathrooms were nice but a little tight the way the doors opened inward. Tiled showers were spacious and had plenty of water pressure. Living area was spacious as was the kitchen. Plenty of room to relax and watch tv or play a board game. Kitchen was spacious and well laid out. Cabinets were well stocked with plenty of plates, bowls and drink ware. Everything was there that you might need to prepare a nice meal. The front porch was roomy and comfortable for our morning coffee and conversation. The washer and dryer are located in a room off of the back porch. The ocean is not visible from the home but you can definitely hear the waves crashing from the porch. The home is far enough away from the crowded downtown area yet closed enough to enjoy the local shops and restaurants. Downtown Charleston is an easy 15 minute drive. The management company was very attentive and sent us several messages during our stay checking on us and making sure that everything was as we expected. One note, save the door access code on something that you will keep on you when you leave because it is too long to remember. A great place to stay. We would consider staying there again.
Everything looked so great in the pictures but cramped inside for 5 people. When we sat on the sofas they sank way down, very uncomfortable. We kept smelling cigarette smoke, maybe from downstairs. We were told we would have two parking spaces but there were three other cars there and a motorcycle. We are all seniors so would have liked that convenience.
We stayed during Hurricane Helene, when we lost power the property manager was so kind and assured us that we would be ok. The house is sturdy and we felt very safe the entire time. The little town of Folly Beach was sweet and welcoming. We never had a worry. They took care of us and the house was wonderful.
Not a review, just a maintenance comment for property manager
I'm not sure where to list this, but wanted to tell you that the handle on the door into the bedroom behind the kitchen falls off when you pull it to close the door. Also the toilet in that same room tends to get stuck and keep running until you lift the tank lid and adjust the stopper thing; not every time but more often than not.
Overall Nice Place but Maintenance needed and Communication Not Good
Rental was overall nicely decorated and in a great location. However there were a few things that made our trip frustrating. The management company (VACASA) was very disappointing in their responses to issues. Mainly we did not have internet connectivity the entire week we were there and VACASA would constantly say they passed the issue to the local maintenance personnel but they only contacted us once. The router was located in the unit below so we could not access it to reset it. Then halfway through our trip the unit below went under renovation which was extremely loud and we were never told about this. Then the renovators permanently disconnected the cable connection which made the internet connection impossible to fix during our stay. The unit also needed some maintenance work as the toilet paper holder was coming out of the wall, the fridge door holders are broken and could not hold weight, and we saw several ants in the unit. The rental company did reimburse some of the amount of the stay but it would have been nice to not have the disruptions and have our internet connection established.
We had a lovely time staying here and would book again. The space is as pictured. Beach is two blocks away. We appreciated staying on the quieter end of Folly Beach. Washer & dryer--nice plus. We cooked a few small meals and had what we needed. Brought our own beach chairs and extra beach towels, although there were 4 beach towels in a closet. Hope to visit again!
We did a relaxing girls weekend and this house was just what we needed. The proximity to the beach was ideal. When we were at the house, we spent most of the time on the deck which was perfect. There are restaurants and shops near by and we were able to get an Uber when needed.
The house was well appointed with everything we needed. The beach was beautiful and quiet with just a short walk or golf cart ride to town for dinner. It was perfect!
Lovely place to stay. Very nice overall layout. Front deck is spacious for sitting and relaxing. Short walk to the beach and short drive to restaurants.
Nice property, quiet neighborhood very short walk to the beach
Very nice rental, very short walk to the beach, which we were usually the only ones out there. We rented a golf cart and hardly ever had to use our car while we were there.
There is a small hole in the ceiling of the master bedroom and bits of stuff kept falling out of it so we stuffed a sock in it. (In fact, we accidentally left it there, sorry).
Upon arrival the property was very clean. The king beds are very comfortable and the showers are spacious. The open floor plan was nice, especially while cooking. We loved being able to walk to the beach, no hassle of a hot car and trying to find a parking place.
This lovely house was very nice for our stay at Folly Beach. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Less than a 5 minute walk from the beach, it was easy to walk home for lunch or a quick bathroom break. Our only disappointment was the road noise. While it didnât bother us when we were inside the house, when we sat outside on the porch the constant loud cars and motorcycles was distracting as Ashley is the main road to the north end of the island. I will still give the property 5 stars as it was such a wonderful home.
