I rented this property over the Christmas holiday based on the listing photos and prior reviews which suggested a clean and acceptable home. The host initially appeared pleasant and responsive. I arrived late in the evening.Access to the home was straightforward; however, upon entering the property, it was immediately evident that the home was materially misrepresented. The condition of the home did not reflect the listing photos. The couch and other furniture were stained, walls were dirty, and there were visible black handprint marks on doors, appliances, and multiple surfaces throughout the home. The bedrooms were acceptable. The main bathroom, although appearing updated, was extremely small and had visibly dirty tile with mold present in the corners. The second bathroom was located outside the main living area and was dingy and poorly maintained.The backyard posed both health and safety concerns. The area contained trash, debris, and old, torn and filthy furniture. The condition of the outdoor space was hazardous and unsanitary. Photos documenting these conditions are available Early the following morning, when I let my dogs outside, I discovered a dead rat approximately seven inches in length. The animal appeared to have died from pesitides poisoning, presenting a serioushealth risk to pets and occupants. Due to unsafe and unacceptable conditions, I immediately packed up, notified the host,and vacated the property. Her response was entirely unprofessional.
