The location was great - right around the corner from Echo Lake, close to many trails, 15 minutes from Lincoln. The view was PHENOMENAL - sunset over the mountain every evening. New kitchen appliances were a nice amenity, and was stocked with all the tools you could need to cook a meal (kitchen tools are all pretty "used" but they're there!) Fairly private spot, but not secluded by any means. This didnt bother is much, but its an older property without many updates at all. It is charming and big enough for the whole family. The front screen door has no handle, the window screens are ripped, some windows do not open at all. Furniture is very "vintage" but the couches are SO comfortable and the dining table seats 8. TVs in the great room, bunk room, and 1 bedroom. Internet is not high speed, but good service. There is no yard. There is a broken shower door upstairs. The porch is in need of repair. The grill was too dirty to use. Many of the linens stained. Some lightbulbs need replacing. Fireplace was out of order. We arrived late afternoon to no running water, and attempts for resolution were futile until late the following morning. We woke up every morning at 530 to construction right outside our window that we were not informed of, and were trapped or blocked out of the property a few times as they were digging up the road. Also note - this property is on a resort with many other vacation homes, which surprised us.
The location of this property was centrally located to MANY trail heads in the area. The price was right but the property itself is extremely dated and needs some serious TLC. The deck; which has a fantastic view of the mountains and sunsets is rotting and the slider needs replacing. The grill also needs to be replaced. If you just need a cheap place to rest your head after a day of hiking then this might be the property for you.
I took my daughter on a weekend hiking trip and wanted t be close to the trail heads in Franconia. This a spot fit the bill. It was a quick car ride to the trailheads which is important during peak season as the lots fill up so quick.
The house had a wonderful updated kitchen with a lot of charm throughout the house. The living room was very comfortable, with a big deck with nice views of the foliage.
There was only 2 of us but overall plenty of room for more.
We went with 3 teenage kids and me and my wife. There was plenty of room, and each kid had their own room, and the location was beautiful. The negatives were that the house is very dated. It definitely needs updating. The water was very hard and had a very metallicaly smell to it. If the house was updated it would be perfect. The only other negative was the cleaning crew was lurking around the house at 8 am. As we were leaving at 9:20(10 am checkout time) there was a gentleman sitting just outside the property waiting for us to leave. I have rented numerous properties and this is the first time this has happened. It made me and my family feel very uncomfortable.
Property needs work. Old leak over the upstairs shower was covered up with wall paper that was coming off exposing mold. We could not use this shower at all. Same bathroom has a leak under the sink. The small bowl that had been placed under it overflowed leaving a mess for me to clean. Roof leaked. Steps were extremely icy on our arrival. We had 2 people fall. Neighbors have many dogs who left piles everywhere around the parking and front door. At night it was impossible to avoid. Garbage storage was supposed to be in a utility closet that was too small for 8 days. Not even close to worth the money!
Stayed for 3 days with a group of six and one dog. Nice chalet with plenty of room. Two living rooms, updated appliances in kitchen, useable fireplace (BYO wood), and two balconies. Plenty of hand soap, towels and kitchen cutlery. Washer and dryer in lower level (we did not use).
Located behind Mittersill resort, with easy access to highway. Quiet neighborhood except 3 large dogs next door that run around off leash. They were friendly but my dog isn't, so we had to time dog walks just right.
We've stayed on site at Mittersill and in other chalets in the village and this was by far the nicest accommodation in this area of Franconia.
I stayed at this property for a week. It was nicely furnished with everything I needed. Including the host bringing me extra firewood. I stayed on upstairs level, the downstairs bedrooms were dark and gloomy. It was quiet and serene, with lovely views of the valley below.
Very clean and cozy cabin in a convenient location. Not too far from a convenience store + grocery store, as well as many great trails. Kitchen was well stocked and made it easy to cook all weekend. Unfortunately, we had no hot water the whole weekend for some reason in showers, though able to get hot water in sinks. Also, the beds were more full sized than queen, though I may be mistaken. Overall, a nice place to stay for a quick weekend trip, just need some fixes and updates!
My wife, daughters and friends truly enjoyed our stay here. There were 6 of us, but the facility was roomy enough for us all to feel comfortable. The location is extremely quiet, yet close enough to all area attractions. Our only concern, which Vrbo has not control over, was unleashed neighborhood dogs that pestered our LEASHED dogs on a couple of occasions. Otherwise, thank you Vrbo for an outstanding family getaway.
