We stayed for almost three weeks and, unfortunately, it did not meet the standard represented in the listing.Basement/ventilation: The lower level had a strong musty, dank “Michigan basement” odor that permeated throughout the house. DampRid & air fresheners provided little relief. Windows were often inoperable, lacked screens, or would not stay open. The basement had exposed wiring and insulation, not suitable for guest use as described.Air conditioning: The floor unit in the kitchen/dining area was so loud it make conversation difficult. Management offered another unit for a bedroom, we declined because of noise.Bedrooms: There were no dressers. Photos show beds, do not show walls where storage might reasonably be expected.Kitchen: Cabinets/drawers were disorganized and needed cleaning and new liners. Pans/cooktop burners were dirty, no pantry/storage space.Living area: Seating was insufficient. The bar stools were unstable/squeaky and unsafe. Location: Listed as a “short walk” to town and Lake Michigan. The beach is approximately two miles away (/- 30-minute walk), with no sidewalk for much of the route and a 55-mph road. Misleading.Other issues: The washing machine had to be replaced. The master carpet & mattress pad were stained. A deck chair had a bent leg, outdoor cushions were dirty/wet due to a leaking storage bin. No “covered deck”.Manager attempted to help, but the issues were the property's condition, functionality, location, and listing accuracy.
