What a little slice of heaven. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch and kayaking by the cabin. Perfect place to relax and unwind, and a short drive to all the area has to offer.
We truly enjoyed our stay and will most certainly be back! The hosts were wonderful, and the cabin was clean, cozy, and well-maintained. Thank you for sharing your beautiful place with us!
We really enjoyed our stay here, especially listening to the birds in the early morning on the screened in back porch and watching lightning bugs and listening to frogs in the evening. The drive to the property is beautiful rural Kentucky countryside. It was fun seeing people escaping the heat by soaking in the Elkhorn river. We had a great lunch at Sage Garden Cafe in Frankfort. We enjoyed 2 evening trips to West 6th Farm, which is such a beautiful property with a food truck on site. NEXT time, we plan to book a kayak trip on the Elkhorn, which ends conveniently just a few houses down from this stay. Some reviews mentioned the traffic noise since the house is on a main road and we were a bit worried about that, but it honestly did not bother us at all. Thank you for letting us stay at your lovely home!
Very cozy and charming little cottage. Comfortable even during a period of high heat. We kayaked and toured some distilleries and watched streaming British murder mysteries and played guitar. The first evening we had the dubious pleasure of enjoying the mating songs of the American road bike racer up and down the river for a bit, but otherwise it was pretty peaceful outside of the modest morning commuting traffic.
First, the cabin is very clean with a good kitchen and comfortable bedroom. The location by the creek is really nice and the screen porch is fantastic. However, the bathroom is very cramped. The toilet is especially problematic if you are tall because it is quite low and positioned very closely to the opposing wall. Also, the road is fairly close and can be quite loud. Thankfully, the traffic died down after bedtime. I would love to give this 5 stars because of the super nice owners but in fairness, I cannot.
Delightful, relaxing vacation at this sweet cabin. We were able to relax, as well find many fun and interesting things to do on Bourbon Trail.Felt like being at home.Thank you Allison and Nathan for being such warm and caring hosts.Diane and Paul
It was a very relaxing place to stay. Listening to the sound of the creek and birds was soothing. The host was gracious and communication was excellent.
If you are looking for a peaceful place and donât mind driving about 15 minutes to get to bars/restaurants, distilleries, and other entertainment then this is absolutely the place for you. We had a wonderful time staying here. Had everything we needed and made it work with a small bathroom. Our dog was also comfortable in the home and we felt safe leaving him there when we ran out to explore.
Very nice stay. The cabin was equipped with everything we need including recommendations. The cabin is located near water for kayaking and probably fishing. It is quiet and serene. The only thing was the lighting outside. We arrived after 11pm and it was pitch black. They did have a solar light, but it must have died out by that hour.
While this is an older small property it's very cozy, kept clean, and just what we needed for a few days of quiet & relaxation. Would highly recommend!
This cabin was a great staycation that was still close to attractions but secluded enough to disconnect. We enjoyed the screen in porch the most of our stay but Nathan and Allison were fantastic hosts. We even went out on the bourbon boat for the old Taylor tour that ended with a tour of Buffalo Trace!
We truly enjoyed the serenity of Creekside Cottage. Loved the screened in back porch with two porch swings and party lights. Very clean quaint retreat. Our dog liked being at the cottage too. Nathan is an excellent easy to reach host!
We had a great stay at this cabin this past weekend. It was the perfect distance from town, 10min, to have solitude, but close enough to explore Frankfort. We enjoyed being able to sit on the screen porch in the mornings. Nathan and Alison were great hosts! Also if you get a chance we recommend taking a trip on the Bourbon Boat tours they offer. The Sunset Tour was exactly what we needed at the end of the day.
This lovely little creekside cottage was everything it was advertised to be and more. The huge screened in back porch was our refuge. We spent mornings there drinking our coffee and identifying all of the birds, and evenings just relaxing and listening to the creek. The cabin was clean, comfortable and well furnished. We would gladly stay again and recommend!
We had a great time at the cabin. We came to the area to do some kayaking on Elkhorn Creek. This was the perfect place to stay. The proximity to the creek, Canoe Kentucky, and downtown Frankfort made it easy to do everything we wanted. The screened in porch was the perfect place to watch the lightning bugs every night. The owners were friendly, communicative, and made great recommendations for things to do in the area. Highly recommended!
The Creekside Cottage was a great location to get away from it all and slow down while enjoy the great porch swings (there were 3!). The place provided what were we looking for while attending Railbird Festival this year as a place to recharge and enjoy the creek and beautiful KY area.
