Pity about the WW2 bomb!

This review is based on the first night of a two night stay. Because of the discovery of a WW2 bomb in the vicinity, the hotel was shut late afternoon and with a sick wife, all we were offered was a coach ride to a sister hotel and await developments. Not surprisingly, I cancelled the second night and booked a second hotel close by. Unfortunately, I had paid for the second night at the InterCity and they were not able to refund it. The Hotels.com website doesn’t appear to have a direct email and such cancellations by a hotel are not on their “help” list.

Airport shuttle

When booking, the hotel showed “airport shuttle included,” but upon arrival they charged €15 for the shuttle, which was disappointing and misleading. Their check-in screen also indicated that business travelers do not need to pay city tax, yet I was still asked to pay €2 without a clear explanation. If shuttle charges are extra, it would be better to clearly mention this during booking instead of advertising it as included. That said, the hotel itself is nice, clean, and conveniently located near the airport.

Far from everything, and if you arrive at the hotel at night time the only option for food is pizza! Not even a good pizza... a good old frozen pizza with one slice of ham cut into 4 pieces!
