We also have a herd of sheep and their donkey companion that roam freely in our neighborhood and regularly graze around the house. However, please note that this is not a petting zoo, and guests should not approach, interact with, or feed the animals. For hands-on experiences, there are many nearby attractions in the Hill Country that specialize in farm and exotic animal encounters.

Since this is a true Hill Country retreat, you may encounter insects or wildlife such as scorpions, spiders, snakes, and other critters—especially in summer. We maintain regular pest control and provide bug spray, but some sightings are simply part of the Texas wilderness experience.

Awesome house with very accommodating and friendly hosts! It’s outside of town to enjoy the wildlife and peace and quiet but still close enough to run in for shopping and dinner.

Traveled to Fredericksburg for a girls’ trip. Dancing Sun was a fantastic place for our stay! It is a 25 min drive to Main St, but we mapped out our days to only have to drive in once a day and it was not an issue. The property is beautifully/tastefully decorated and there are so many amenities. The kitchen was well stocked. We had an abundance of towels. It was also very clean. This may be the best short rental I’ve ever booked. We would book again in a heartbeat.
