It was a great stay! We were there for the 4th of July and then we were going to head to San Antonio the next day. The flood happened so we decided to stay another night!! Very clean rooms! I’d go back.

Good and Bad

They remodeled the rooms, good but the new sinks were by the only plug for the coffee maker so you had to move the coffee maker back and forth when using it and there wasn't much room, the bed had no night stand and light with electrical access for plugging in cell phones, the bath room shower fixtures were not properly installed, and there was not the variety of breakfast snacks that there had been in the past. When we walked in it was raining and there were no bath mats to put by the front door to stop water and mud being dragged across the room. I needed to go to the front desk as all there were was two towels, no wash cloths either. The new mirror was attractive but there was no overhead light that used to exist to properly see your face for applying makeup. Also there was no iron for the clothes and inadequate space for hanging clothes. One person staying over nite, fine, but two staying several days not fine. The old closet shelf although not attractive would have been better, it also provided a place to put the iron. The motel is still close to downtown, next to a great restaurant, and reasonably priced, so it has a lot of pluses that will keep us coming back.

I was given a room that was freshly painted and clean. They were also painting the outside of the hotel. I also needed help walking (recent injury) and the people who worked at this hotel were very kind in helping me. Don’t overlook this place, you get more than what you pay for :)

Check in was very convenient and staff was nice. However - the cleaning products used were very strong and harsh on the nose. We had an accessible room and while the effort was made to make it ADA compliant, there are areas that need improvement. The shower rod is a tension-type rod, and was not secure and fell during a shower, hitting a guest on the head. Something permanently installed would be much better. There is also nowhere to put soap or shampoo (like a nook or tray), unless you balance them on the support bar or on the toilet lid. There was also some kind of off-white “crust” on the picture over the bed - I didn’t investigate very hard as I’d rather not actually know what it was

I have stayed at this same motel several times over the past few years. The fact that I keep going back says everything. This time they had a new coffee brand in the loby and I was impressed. It was very good.
