Friedrichskoog lies on a peninsula right by the Schleswig-Holstein tidal flats national park, only about an hour by car to the north-west of Hamburg. The North Sea town Friedrichskoog is in a rural location between cabbage and grain fields in the southern part of the Dithmarschen region.
