Property was as described. We had six in out party and had plenty of room. Property does not have an elevator. Stairs are very steep and hard to get luggage up. Would not recommend if you are not in good physical condition. Or stairs are difficult for you. This is noted before we arrived.
Just needing a one night stay prior to a cruise, it worked. No elevator or at least what looked to be an elevator was not working. Short on towels and extra sheets. One of us decided to crash on the couch rather than double up in a bed and there were no extra sheets. There were a few transom windows that let in street lights and were bothersome when attempting to sleep. No hot water in the primary suite tub/shower. Lastly, running children in unit upstairs carried on to late in the evening. We made it work but isn't what we are used to.
This unit was so nice. It was VERY clean and has everything you could need. Itâs also only a 5 minute drive from the beach (Galveston Seawall) and so close to many restaurants. I would definitely stay here again
Easy check in and host stayed in communication. Parking is not free until after 6pm and can be hard to find near building sometimes leaving you walking down the street to get to apartment. Have to take the stairs but that was advertised. Bicycles advertised to use for free were all broken. Roach on stairwell. No curtains on windows, one tv in whole apartment , wifi was not great for families with lots of devices. Small shower in first bathroom, toilet seats were scratched up in both bathrooms, top window in first bedroom let light in from hallway during the night. Pet friendly is a plus although no real grass area around for them to use restroom except a church ground. Located A street behind the stand-easy walk. No complaints just observations. Overall great stay! Would definitely use again and recommend to anyone for a comfortable place to stay.
The stay was wonderful but the washer and dryer was broken and itâs a single unit so we had to air dry clothes bc no one told us it was broken. But I would definitely be staying here again in the future.
The value and charm at this rental was wonderful. It was street light bright at night but just put towel over uncovered window in master and there were zero issues sleeping. Will definitely remember this location.
2 couples, 78 yr old, celebrating a birthday. We enjoyed our stay. We had everything we needed and then some. Loved the walkability to the StrandâŠshops and restaurants. No complaints. Would stay here againâŠ.the only thing that could make it batter is an elevatorâŠ.maybe some lamps in the living room for reading.
Love the place and how itâs in the middle of everything from the Strand to the Pier. Only complaint was how noisy the street was outside the windows but thatâs expected when staying anywhere downtown. Overall really great place and would stay again!
Property was amazing and an easy walk to the strand. Didnât like that they have no way to store luggage. We like to travel early in the day to have more time to experience the areas we travel to and having to find a place to keep our luggage was very in convenient, but we made the best of it.
Pre-arrival information was timely and informative. Loft was spacious, and a great location for Mardi Gras. A bit of room for improvement includes soap in the bathrooms - only one had 2 mini shampoos and 1 body lotion, and the other had nothing. Handtowels would have been nice, as only 1 towel and 1 washcloth per guest was available. Also, an extra blanket would have been nice, as the weather was quite cold during our stay. Lastly, check-in information was not sent as promised, but only after I messaged host to request it.and rainy during our sypguest
Overall, this was a nice two bedroom loft. There were 5 of us and we only stayed for the one night because of leaving the next morning on a cruise. Two things. There is not an elevator. We had some older ladies with us and lugging your luggage up the stairs was difficult. So if you have anyone who cannot climb stairs this is not the place for you. Also, the one bunk room has a bright light that shines in from the hall. It makes it difficult for sleeping. I had seen this in some of the other reviews and let me say it is bright. Lastly, the bunk bed itself is almost on the floor and is very hard to get up from as well as makes allot of noise. The ceilings are very tall so I would think a bunk a regular distance from the floor would not be an issue. I don't know that I would stay here again, especially because of the stairs and lack of elevator. There is not parking and at night that was an issue but we were able to figure something out.
It is a lovely, well appointed, nicely updated apartment with historic charm in a great location with many restaurants within walking distance. We were only there one night before getting on a cruise - also within close proximity - but wish it could've been longer. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
