I’ve stayed at Dakota hotels before and they were quite good. This was… a very bad experience. The rooms are quite dark, even with all the lights on, and they require a keycard inserted to turn the electricity on, similar to a La Quinta Inn back in 2005. I can understand a budget hotel having this design, but when you choose a 4- or 5-star hotels it should allow you to avoid such hassles. Further, the cleaning crew would come in daily and remove my card and take it leaving me without electricity and one less keycard. Twice they left the windows of my room open so I came back to a freezing ice cave. Every day I would ask the front desk if they could tell the cleaning crew to stop taking my key card and every day the cleaning crew took it.l The location is somewhat industrial and not at all as nice as the central station area. I’d recommend you find something there. I had a sweater sent to be dry cleaned and it came back with HUGE holes in it. When I showed it to the front desk the woman promised to take care of it. But later she called me and argued that it was not cashmere because the label says wool and that they shouldn’t owe me so much money. They destroyed my only sweater in a very cold country and you’re arguing with me about a $20 difference in refunded money? How tactless! In the end they confiscated the sweater as evidence and didn't provide me with enough money to buy a new one. so I feel like this was handled in a way that left a very bad taste in my mouth.

The staff was wonderful - warm, professional, very helpful. The bar was cozy, nice small plates menu. Our room was spotless, spacious, great decor, well appointed. Bed was very comfortable (and very welcome after our long car trip).
