We booked a two-night stay in early January. The house was lovely and charming EXCEPT...When we arrived there was no heat. The kitchen was 52 degrees. We had to wear winter coats inside. Did some troubleshooting with the local property manager, and it was too late at night for them to send anyone. There was one space heater for the entire house, and the advertised gas fireplace did not work. The next morning, the heat still was not working. Called the local property manager again. They were still working on getting someone out to the house. By about 9am, no one had come. Also, the house had radiant floor heating, so was told that it can take up to 12 hours for the heat to fully kick in once it turns on. By that point, even if the repair person showed up and fixed it, we still would not have full heat until the evening of our second night. I called the property manager again and asked for a full refund. They agreed, and said I had to call VRBO to complete that process. I spent the next hour on the phone with VRBO, during which the local property manager walked back their agreement for a full refund, and was given the runaround. VRBO pointed the fingers at the local property manager, and local property manager pointed fingers towards VRBO. In the end, I was refunded 1/4 the amount we paid. We were so disgruntled we did not stay for our second night. And the bed in the master bedroom was hard as a plank.
