The lake location and view were beautiful, but the home’s condition did not come close to meeting our expectations. Compounding this, one hour prior to our arrival we received an email stating that lake levels were low and some docks were inaccessible. We brought our jet ski, and it would have been nice to know this much sooner. A drop in lake levels does not happen overnight; this was an issue they knew about for quite some time, and notifying us one hour prior felt like a serious lack of transparency.Upon arrival, the property showed significant deferred maintenance. Inside, the walls were dirty, trim and molding was chipped, and there were holes in the walls (including one taped over with packaging tape). There were also piles of dead bugs, dirty vents, broken window shades, stained curtains, and a dented fridge. In addition, a strong sewage odor filled the home whenever any shower or dishwasher ran. Outside, the patio area was full of weeds and debris, and the cushions were waterlogged.Property management was informed at check in, and sent a crew the next day that cleaned the bugs and picked up the debris, but they never followed up further. Due to the 70,000 people in the area for Liberty graduation weekend, we had no real choice but to stay, but it definitely put a damper on our celebration for our son. We are in no way looking for a refund or compensation. We genuinely want other guests to be aware and make their own informed decision.
