Excellent location and accommodation By accidently packed the hunter fan remote for the downstairs bedroom Please email you address to dbrown1852@gmail.com and weâll fedex it to you assp
Beautiful locale, cute furnishings. Unit is very old and has not been kept up well. Although the kitchen and upstairs bathroom has been updated, the downstairs bathroom toilet teetered back and forth and was leaking water. There was water damage and unfinished repairs above the downstairs patio doors. Those doors could not be locked. The entire downstairs reeked of mildew and the upstairs bedroom reeked of bug spray. Carpeting was dirty, dead bugs were found in the corners of the living room. The underside of the flip top on the kitchen garbage can was covered with old food and mold and created a rotten stench throughout the main floor. Too bad, because the setting is nice, but cleanliness we lacking and it was an older unit that clearly had not been maintained over the years. Cute furnishings and decor do not cover years of neglect. Not up to VRBO standards!
The kitchen is very well equipped and even includes an air fryer. A couple of the knives in the knife block jackknifed so are unsafe. The only access to the water is by ladder on the dock. Large and medium sized dogs have no access. The water is green so I didnât swim in it. There is no access to the water for the very heavy paddle boat so itâs a lawn ornament. The family room remote doesnât work. Kayaking was fun !
We enjoyed our stay .. the condo came stocked with everything you need. I would give 5 stars but wish they had at least 1 king bed .. also the stove and refrigerator needs to be updated. Everything else was great.
Vibless rental with awful management in a beautiful location
This rental is managed by Vacassa and they are a massive hassle to deal with. Check-in process required multiple calls to support to get a person who cared to solve the issue. There was a minor storm that knocked out power heat and water while I was there, it was well below freezing at night. It took two nights to get permission to use the fireplace and I had to buy my own wood. They never offered to drop off or even reimburse for firewood or water to drink/ flush/ wash with.I left early and got a refund eventually, extremely stressful situation and I was treated like a number not a person. The location is absolutely beautiful and the neighbors are really nice.
It's a nice townhouse on the lake, can't really complain much about that. A few things to note. The downstairs bedroom is really cold (winter season of course) so you must be willing to keep a fire going if you want to stay down there. Also, the two queen beds felt more like full size beds to my wife and I. Smith Mountain Lake is a beautiful area, but be warned to get in out of of the area to other locations you will need to travel 15 minutes on very winding roads. And finally, there was a lack of 'welcoming' that we usually receive when we book these places. No fruit basket, or welcoming note, or other things like that. And it was missing some common items like salt and coffee filters (amongst other little things). Finally, we tried to reach out to someone on Saturday and didn't hear back from them until Tuesday, after we had already checked out and were on our way back home. We enjoyed our stay and those are mostly little concerns but things I wanted other potential bookers to know.
The property was very comfortable and great place to unwind! There was one major issue - the lower floor bedroom heat wasn't working and it was in the 20's outside! I called the support number and got nowhere. Good thing there were extra blankets!
I came to visit my daughter who goes to VT for her birthday, and this lakeside condo was absolutely perfect! It has a great kitchen, beautiful bathrooms and comfy beds. The views from the 2 decks were stunning! We swam, sunned on the swim platform, and floated around the lake all day. It was exactly as advertised and actually even better! Thank you for a lovely weekend.
