A really nice hotel room along route 66. Friendly staff and a quaint dog friendly stay next to the national park. We really enjoyed this place and would gladly stay if we make a return trip to El malpais.

An old time Route 66 motel, the South West offers clean (albeit small) rooms, excellent front desk service, and amenities.

Bed was a bit uncomfortable. There should have been hooks on the wall to hang items from (towels, purses, toiletries, etc. AC needs a major update.

Great Route 66 motel experience

The person who welcomed us at check in was really friendly and offered great recommandations for food around Grants. I really loved the vinyl record player in the room with an album that I have back home. It felt like home. The AC unit was a bit loud, that'd the only down side during our stay.

Really special renovated "Route 66" motel. Owner was so friendly amd helpful, room. was charming, nicely renovated with lots of vintage "Route 66" decor. AC worked great, too!

Retro motel near El Malpais. Location was great. Bed was comfy and room seemed clean, but a little run down. Shower was awful. I’m always a little suspicious when linens and towels are gray because it hides stains. Front desk was pleasant.

Great owner

The motel was very easy to get to. It is an old motel but well kept and clean. Felt very safe in that area. Motel checkin was awesome. The owner was absolutely amazing and helpful.

Good place, the staff was helpful with local recommendations and such. Nice location on old Route 66, and convenient to the Malpais. Plenty of good dining options, some even walking distance. Like many motels it’s a little old and there were some repair issues - we had some troubles with the lights.
