Bedroom finished to an extremely high spotless standard with every necessary item included. Some issue with the proximity to the kitchen extraction system but this resolves at 10pm so ultimately not too great a problem. The Sth African theme is well done and the stand out was the quality of the food - one of the best steaks ive had.

Lovely big room with a fireplace, spacious en suite with an excellent shower. Couple of points that dropped it down from a five star review, namely a hole in the bedspread and a worn out patch on the arm of the chair, the overall feel was quality despite these minor flaws.

Our company held its annual xmas lunch at the hotel so it made sense to stay there, the rooms are lovely, spacious and tastefully decorated.

Held our annual xmas lunch here, approx 60 people, i stayed overnight, everything was excellent, lovely room, could not have been better.

Great characterful hotel with a great restaurant!

Nice Pub and restaurant and a place you want to spend some time at. Food as great and breakfast was high quality and big (you wont need lunch) Decor and room size is great and probably made better by the fact we stayed at a large American Chain Hotel the night before for the same price so the comparison made us love it all the more. Location for us was good as we were visiting Guldford and my first experience of the lovely Surrey lanes and villages. We will return!

Weekend break

Pros: I liked the restaurant and the food including breakfast was good
Cons: Very unusual for room not to be made up and cleaned every day
Location: Good transport links and only a few miles from Guildford.
Popular busy inn with a good restaurant. The room we had was quirky but we were disappointed it did not get serviced over the two nights we were there. The friendliness of the staff was variable. Food was good and a good atmosphere in the bar and restaurant. A bit noisy the first evening we stayed there. Very close to railway so good transport links.
