This property is amazing! It is conveniently located a few short steps from town and within a 5 minute walk to the beach. The house was immaculate upon entering and was fully stocked with everything one would need to enjoy all that Hawaii has to offer: surfboards, standup paddle boards, boogie boards, snorkeling, equipment, beach, chairs, bikes, and much more. The layout of rooms is terrific and allows for a number of sleeping arrangements, which is wonderful when you have kids of various ages. Communication with Mike and Leila as well as an available concierge were first rate - helpful, prompt and friendly. The kitchen was amazing and since we like to cook, I appreciated the little things like the super sharp knives and the variety of Hexclad cookware. I would definitely plan to stay here again. If you have the chance, you'll have the time of your life.

What an amazing house!! Our stay could not have been more perfect, the house was so clean, in an amazing location, and so well stocked. We were able to cook every day, use surfboards, boogie boards, bicycles, snorkels, beach chairs to enjoy the beach, Micheal and Leila have thought of everything! They were available for any questions and made us feel really welcome.Our teenagers loved the outdoor shower and bathtub. Our family will definitely be back!

This place is incredible. Just far away enough from the main center to feel mellow and a close walk to the beach. Huge plus that each room had an a/c unit. The outdoor shower scene is incredible.

This house is lovely. It is on the main highway through town, but tucked away behind a lovely wall of foliage and of what appears to be authentic vintage surf boards. The house's full array of beach equipment, bikes and outdoor bathroom allows you to really live the island life as it should be.

Magical Hanalei Retreat

Our family of 6 had an absolutely magical time in my most favorite place in all of the Hawaiian islands. This home is well appointed for cooking as well as all beach needs ( towels, snorkel gear, stand up paddle boards, surf boards as well as bikes). The interior is bright clean, comfortable and surrounded by lush tropical plants with tons of orchids. The outdoor shower though was the absolute favorite especially at night with the stars out!We walked to the beach and in to town, close distance to the napali coast, tunnels beach and princeville. This was the perfect place for our family of 6 with 4 teenage kids!

Perfect Hanalei Getaway: Spacious, Spotless, and close to the Best Beaches

We had such a wonderful stay here! The location is amazing—close to everything we love about Hanalei. We traveled with our daughter, her family, and my brother and sister, and the house was perfect for all of us. It had everything we needed, was super clean, and really well stocked.The lanai became our favorite hangout spot—we spent so much time out there enjoying the breeze and the view. The beaches nearby are unbeatable, and everything about the house just made our trip easy and enjoyable.Everything was lovely. We will definitely be back!

Perfect Beach Getaway

We loved every minute of our stay at this impeccable Hanalei home. Has every amenity you could ask for... bikes, surfboards, beach gear, two outdoor showers and comforts like AC, TV (w/firestick), fantastic kitchen, big beds and washer/dryer. Amazing House

This house is in the perfect location. You can walk to town and walk to the beach in less than 5 mins. My family loved our stay. There was plenty of towels and everything you need to cook. All the beach equipment was amazing. We loaded up the wagon and walked to the beach for the day. The only downside was the family room upstairs gets pretty hot in the afternoon. Maybe it was just the time of year. Lovely view from the porch. If you have a large crowd make a trip to Costco for groceries because the food is expensive. Also make sure you don't have over 6 guests or you'll end up paying extra even though it says sleeps 10. Overall we had an amazing time. Would definitely go again.

A beautiful and fun place!

This property has everything a person may need! It is gorgeous and spacious with every amenity. My teens loved the surf boards, boogie boards, skate boards and bikes! Best Birthday Stay at the Hanalei Getaway

We booked a quick staycation at the Hanalei Getaway and it was one of our favorite stays ever. What a house! The property is so special — tucked away off the street with a carport made of trees and a fence of surfboards, an outdoor shower and bath, tons of beach cruisers and boards, views of the mountains and a quick bike ride to the shops and beach. I could go on and on. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Hanalei, this is it! Thanks to Mike and his family for hosting us! We will be back for sure! Never wanted to leave!

Gorgeous beach house near Kauai’s most beautiful beach!

Spacious, sparkling clean, beautifully appointed home a short walk from Hanalei Bay. Mike and Leila provided everything you could possibly need for a beach vacation: stand up paddle boards, kayaks, bikes, snorkels, surfboards, etc. Comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, beautiful furniture that looked like antiques from Bali… this home has it all. The most beautiful home we have ever rented on or off VRBO. We can’t wait to return!

Great Home with many amenities and perfect location

The home was very well maintained and had many amazing amenities. Part of our reason for choosing this place was because it came with the boards, snorkel equipment, bikes, and everything we want for our vacation. The bedrooms are comfortable and kitchen and bath were well equipped for our family of four. The location is perfect for walking or biking to town or the beach. The only comment we have is that the local chickens and dogs canGet a little noisy, but the managers have provided earplugs for light sleepers. Nonetheless, we had an amazing stay, and we will be back!

I rented this house for October break with our kids, ages 17-20. The house is amazing. It is stocked full of adventure gear. We rode bikes to town several times a day. Boogie boarded, snorkeled, surfed and sun bathed at the beach. Awesome to have all that at the house. We had the best time ever.

Great house near town and the beach

Short walk to town and the beach, just have to walk in the grass a bit as road shoulder is narrow in some areas. House is set back from the road a bit, so no road noise issues (and low speed limit in any case). Nice fenced in yard that was great for our toddler. Clean and well furnished. Main living areas get a bit hot during peak of the afternoon but comfortable otherwise and bedroom a/c units kept bedrooms very cool for sleeping at night. Outdoor bathtub/shower was fun for our toddler. Lots of beach gear. Owners very responsive.

Hanalei Happy Place

Our family loved our stay at Hanalei Getaway! This place is gorgeous and in a great spot! It was perfect for our three boys who could spread out. We walked and biked the five minutes to the beach and used the surf boards, sand toys, and all the other gear they provided! Everything was clean and well-taken care of! The outdoor showers were my personal favorite. Downtown Hanalei is a short walk from the house but it is along a busy road, however that never deterred us and it still felt safe with the shoulder on the road and sidewalks. Mike was super helpful and responsive, even later in the evening. The general location on island made it possible to explore all the hidden gems Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with our little family!

Delightful Stay

We all really enjoyed staying at this house. the location was close to town and close to the beach. Both were walking distance. The house was well equipped and comfortable. The kitchen had all brand new pots and pans. The house comes with a ton of beach umbrellas, chairs, bikes, surf boards, boogie boards, kayaks and SUPs. I do suggest that if you come to this house, you rent a pick up truck so you can take the kayaks, SUPs etc to different places to use. The bedrooms all had A/C so that made sleeping at night comfortable. The host was great to work with. We did have an electrical problem while we there that the host got taken care of quickly. An added bonus is that there is a huge avocado tree on the property. We had fresh avocados every day.

Superlative Place to Stay!

A beautiful and unique place to stay, this Hanalei Getaway invited all of us to enjoy many sweet spots on the property and near it! We were first greeted by a mature avocado tree (which continued to share its ripening fruit each day!), and an incredible fence made of surfboards and blossoming colorful plants. Inside this spacious home are fabulous places to gather, cook, hang out, and play games. There are multiple covered spaces outside that allow one to listen to rain and look for rainbows. We were all especially fond of the outdoor showers and bathtub. We all so appreciated that there were bikes of all sizes to accommodate us, as well as a plethora of beach toys. This was our second time staying in this house, and it was even better than the first. We discovered the fleet of cruiser bikes in the back shed, and we all rode down to Hanalei Bay for sunset together. #DreamLife

Our first trip to Hanalei Beach

The Hanalei getaway was a dream come true stay to enjoy our first trip to Hanalei Beach. The home’s inviting, warm, and artistic qualities were an integrative part of our enjoyable vacation. We thoroughly appreciated the availability of sports equipment, outdoor showers and tub, swing chair, cool surfboard fence, great location, clean spaces, well-stocked kitchen and “chill” vibe of the home - this all allowed for a comfortable stay. Our kids are clamoring to go back!

A piece of paradise

We booked this home for half our trip and never wanted to leave . It was amazing . We loved the location so much and feeling like we were right in the middle of the most amazing beaches, markets, hiking areas, and the culture here . We walked to the farmer’s market, self serve cheesecake, food trucks and so much more . We watched the sunset across the bay, snorkeled at tunnels beach, and hiked many locations . The home allowed us to gather for dinners and be together . We loved the decor and personal artistic touches. The outside shower is amazing! We were all fighting over it . We would love to come back and felt this was so much better than being in a resort! Thank you Leila and Michael.
