To be honest, the space is alone sets this place apart from the rest. It has some wear and tears as described. The property manager was great and his staff were amazing. I did have to communicate things during our stay and they were prompt to fix them. Our family enjoyed the hot tub the most. The area had a lot to offer fishing, hiking and Prairie Du Chein had a fun zone and great restaurants.
we enjoyed our stay, the place was very roomy and easy to find. we enjoyed the hot tub. we didn't like the hand rail on the stairs(they seemed steep) it was to big (your hands couldn't grip it) but it was a great get away and very relaxing
Centrally located to area parks. The hot tub lid didn't fit, but was told a new one was ordered. The jets on the hot tub only ran on low. We chose this home because of the hot tub and couldn't enjoy it. Home needs dusting. Besides the hot tub issue and dust, it is a great home.
Stayed Oct 2024. Plenty of room for 9 friends. The 3 basement bedrooms were not ideal, it was damp & cool on the concrete floor. The place was a bit outdated and not super clean. Adequate kitchen supplies. Bring your own kitchen and hand towels. Hot tub's second jets did not work. The property was beautiful, nestled into a tree covered valley. Loads of privacy. Great location, close to lots to do: wineries, Spook Cave, Yellow River SP, Pikes Peak, casino, Effigy Mounds NP.
bot outdated
Great place for family get together. Property had trash around pond and was dirty in bathrooms but overall not bad. Had a blast. Planning on returning!!
Nice quiet location on dead end road. Plenty of room for a large family, and the right fit if you are looking for a rental that is clean enough to live in but not meticulous. The family loved all the water opportunities- jacuzzi, hot tub, and swimming pond; bring outside and inside games if you want something to do other than water, campfire, or television.
Though the house could use a bit of help, but we enjoyed our friends' getaway here. The good: lots of room (6 separate sleeping areas), the swimming pond was really fun, it was close to the dock for launching our pontoon onto the Mississippi, and no cleaning was required to check out. The frustrations: an unclear check-in process, some of the areas of the house were not clean (for instance: we had to pull out two large chunks of hair out of the shower drain before it would take water), some of the beds were hard and squeaky, our party all got chigger bites after sitting around the firepit, and we were required to take all of our garbage to a dumpster 10 miles away at check out. We still had a great time!
