I booked the hotel for my honeymoon when booking I sent the hotel an email explaining it was my honeymoon and what time could I check in and few other questions about the place . My email was ignored . Upon arrival I checked in went to room and I was shocked as such a beautiful old building has not been well maintained. Paintwork is shabby the shower on off valve fell off also the soap dispenser fell of the wall while I was showering hitting my foot . Went to leave the room and the lock was broke . They did come straight out and fix it but still not great looked like it has been fixed that many times itâs had it . Apart from that the drinks we had were nice great range breakfast in the morning was great full English coffee and toast fresh juice just what was needed
The ceiling in the room was mouldy and sagging as if had water behind it. Skirting board under the window was rotten and hanging off.
This room would not have been out of place in the 60âs and Faulty Towers. Staff didnât really seem to care when I asked for my money back.
I was looking forward to staying here after a 6 hour drive, this is a place I would never consider or recommend to anyone. Super dated and not worth the money.
Quaint old building, beautiful woodwork. The different floor levels, including in our room, could be a trip/fall hazard for older people. The staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly.
Great hotel set in lovely lawned grounds. Helpful and friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble and they are very chatty, they clearly enjoy talking about their local area
Family room was perfect, we didn't feel cramped and there was 5 of us. Room service was fast and housekeeping was fab as we were there 2nights, everything tidied and restocked for us.
Reception was packed with kids running about, welcome was friendly. Got to room, âbridal suiteâ very small and basic but ok. Cobwebs on ceiling and taps on bath and sink broken. Also stains on towels. Worse was NO sleep the room adjoining to next door didnât close properly they were up all night shouting, singing, arguing. When I say I didnât have 1 hour sleep Iâm not exaggerating. Called down to reception no answer, no one about either. 1.30 am got louder and was like that until we eventually got up and left at 6.30, didnât even stay for breakfast. Never again. No help, no sleep, no breakfast. I couldnât stay in the room a minute longer to wait until 8am when breakfast started. I paid ÂŁ127.50 for the room and I deserve a refund. No one to even complain too on way out. Itâs like your just left in your own during the night. The bits in the room wouldnât have even bothered me but you donât go to a hotel to relax and get no sleep or no help.
I love this old Manor House hotel, it has an abundance of character in a charming, tranquil setting.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff attending to us. So friendly and obliging.
Hotel is clean, food is great, Iâll definitely be back.

I really wanted to be able to give this place a glowing review as the staff are all really great, but for an overnight stay, it just didn't tick all the boxes for me. Food was very good, staff were excellent, grounds were lovely and it was quiet BUT, decor very dated, bed was seriously uncomfortable, bathroom tiny and shower was little more than a dribble. Lovely place though!
