Old, dated, paper thin walls, but cheap & cheerful
The guest house is large. Paid parking is available in a large carpark across the street.
On arrival, the guest house seems very dark, old and dated. The room however was clean and fairly nice - especially at this price point.
We were happy with our stay - just donât expect luxury - itâs basic, simple but nice. The only thing Iâd recommend is to take some ear plugs - the walls are paper thin and you will hear anything your neighbours are getting up to. Luckily, our neighbours were reasonable, and although we could hear them chatting and their TV, it was bearable. Not so much had they been drunkenly shouting.
Overall, good stay for the price and I would stay again.
Room comfortable, breakfasts were good, microwave available. The room was not serviced, no empty rubbish, no towels replaced, no replenish coffee or milk, no replenishment of shower gel or shampoo. It was not alway easy to find somewhere to park.
Host was friendly & gave good advice re parking, & actually went out of his way for us at breakfast time when my daughter was too tired to get up after our long journey.
However the property is dated & in need of some âTLCâ, some of which would be simple & inexpensive but cosmetically make a difference. (new bed linen, fixing wobbly door handles, mugs that match)
Fully appreciate that the building itself is not a new build & therefore has its own charm of uniqueness & character.
Would I stay here againâŠ. yes,
It has a good location, off site parking couldnât be closer (or cheaper), it was clean enough.
If you want a generic âwell known brandedâ hotel room, or a swanky boutique hotel this isnât for you.
