Our stay was beautiful, we went up at a great time of year and the cabin was in a great spot to view the beautiful leaves. Our pups and 1 year old enjoyed the space very much. When we got a moment to ourselves the foosball table and fire pit were great. Roaring river vineyard was a good little spot to visit. Kid and pup friendly as well.
Perfect getaway, lots of privacy, that feel of being away from it all! The host reached out in advance to ensure we had seen notes about the 4x4 requirement, which was appreciated and definitely correct. Would definitely stay again.
Overall we loved our stay. The drive way is steep and it is a solid 30 minutes from a store or gas station. However it is a beautiful place to be for the weekend. The sun hits the deck and land in the morning and you get a good view. The land is all on a hill so no real flat sections. Lovely fire pit which we loved. The cabin itself is very well kept and clean. Lovely details.
The cabin was amazing. It is definitely off the beaten path, but if you are looking for a quiet peaceful stay this is the place. The views are spectacular and the weather really showed off the mountains. The cabin itself is clean, well stocked and charming. We played foosball and PacMan in the game room. We had sâmores and sat by the fire pit and grilled burgers one night. We took a day trip into West Jefferson (I lived there when I was younger) It has definitely turned into a tourist town, but we had a great time walking the streets, shopping and of course eating. Go to Kilwinâs for the ice cream! Torria was very responsive and a great host. We want to go back in the fall.
Very nice but remote cabin that would be perfect if you did not intend to leave. Cabin is listed as being in Hays which would have been an easy drive to Merlefest. It is at least 15 miles past the town and on very windy roads leading to gravel and a drive access that required the Jeep I rented to be put in 4wd low. Basicly and hour drive to Wilksboro. Cabin was nicely furnished and the grounds were peaceful.
