I stayed here on a recent business trip and, unfortunately, the experience fell well below expectations.
Check-in: The queue was extremely long with only one person on the desk. Another guest knocked on the office door and we could see three staff inside not serving. Only one additional person eventually came out, and when we asked if a third could help, we were told two was “enough.” This created an avoidable delay and a poor first impression.
Pool area: While it’s a plus that the hotel has a pool, the upkeep needs urgent attention. I observed brown discolouration in multiple corners and general signs of inadequate maintenance, raising basic cleanliness concerns.
Bar and night management: After the bar closed, our small group returned with one drink each from across the road and sat quietly in a downstairs area. We weren’t playing music or disturbing others. A staff member who introduced himself as “Ashley” and said he was the night manager approached with a very confrontational tone and immediately threatened to call the police if we did not move. The escalation felt unnecessary and disproportionate to the situation.
Overall: Core basics (front-desk staffing, cleanliness, professional communication) were not handled well. I would recommend management review staffing levels at peak times, address pool maintenance standards, and provide training on de-escalation and guest communication for night staff.
