We had a nice, quiet stay. I wish I had brought the dog. we were far enough from neighbors that she would not have been a bother. She would have loved it.
Overall our stay was very good. The house was clean and the kitchen had more than ample dishes, utensils, etc. The area down near the water is fantastic.
This was our third stay. The house is well kept and has plenty of space. The lakefront is beautiful and the water is perfect for swimming. It is very quiet and relaxing. Thank you!đ
Pros: beautiful location, great communication with host, lots of beds for large group.
Cons: Older house with no air conditioning. Plan to bring fans as there may be 2 in the house. No towels. This is mentioned somewhere in the description of the house, but not obvious. Kinda chintzy for what youâre paying. Lastly, despite being close to the water there are no kayaks, paddle boats, canoes. The ones on property are the neighbors and not to be used. Must take your trash to dump in Henderson⊠1$ per 13 gal bag. Not much, but a nuisance.
Overall, we had a good stay. Great weather luckily. If the owner would put a thousand dollars into this property (more fans, towels, maybe a kayak) this would be a 5 star property in my opinion.
Lastly, we love the house keeper. I made a mistake on when our departure date was. She was patient and kind, like most of the folks in that area.
Even better than expected. Plenty of bedrooms for a large group. Comfortable living area with functional kitchen. Great outdoor space with a deck, lawn and beach access. Best of all, quiet serene and beautiful lake views.
Host was very accommodating and helpful throughout the trip.
Beautiful property! Very clean and organized. The house accommodates so many people comfortably. Includes so many things at the house incase you have forgotten anything (dishes, silverware). Will be planning our next stay very soon!
We had a great family reunion at this place in Henderson Harbour. Beautiful stars, great campfire, lovely place with lots of beds. Bringing water shoes was definitely a great idea, as the rocks going into the water are slippery. Thanks for a great time!
We love being at the lake. The large yard allows room for the kids to play and the water is lovely. It can be a challenge to get in and out of the water with the waves and rocks but we managed. The house works for us but is old and could use updating. The one bathroom is a challenge at times as is the spiral staircase. I would not recommend it for older people or young children. Over all we enjoyed our stay.
We love Lake Ontario, the property is old and could use some upgrades. Beds are not comfortable and the stair case upstairs does make it hard for our adults with young children to use but if your there for the lake life it's a great spot for the kids as the water is shallow and fun for them to play in. Sitting out at night with the bonfire is always enjoyable. The yard is also a nice spot for the family to spread out and play games. They don't have many kitchen items so plan accordingly.
We had a friends / family gathering. Beautiful property. Nice lake access and lagg RV e back yard for games. Plenty of bedrooms for 2 families and tons of children to be comfortable. Bedding were cleans and comfortable. Very tight staircase to the top level but there is a bedroom downstairs for guests that canât manage it. I loved that I was able to bring our dog as well. Host is very communicative and easy communication. Would highly recommend
The home was clean and comfortable. The lake was shallow and beautiful. We had an amazing time swimming, star gazing, sitting by the water, and biking. We enjoyed the fire pit and fireplace on cool nights. Would definitely return!
The location on a dead end road means virtually NO traffic. The cottage is far enough off the road that even when the occasional car goes by you may not even notice. The huge front lawn between the cottage and the lake gives plenty of room for the kids to play without constantly worrying they will fall in the lake. The flat rock beach is a great place to launch a kayak. Even on windy days you're protected by the trees. In short, a great place to unwind from the world.
We would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to family when they come to town too!
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was a little cramped for a large family but we made it work. Great place if you want to relax and enjoy the water and bonfires at night. The spiral staircase was doable for our younger generation but may be very difficult for older people especially if you need to use the bathroom in the night which is downstairs. Very quiet neighborhood. Would not recommend this place if you have roudy teens or enjoy being up late partying or listening to music as the neighbors won't appreciate that. With that being said we found the neighbors to be especially friendly who love kids and family time. Would definitely come again.
We had a large group (12 people) stay at this property around mid june and had an amazing time! The property was incredibly clean and better than expected! The pictures do not do the lakefront and yard justice. When we went, the water was low- you could walk out 150-200 feet and it was 3ft deep. Nice stony/rock beach, and nice flat rocks for walking out onto. Recommend water shoes/other foot protection for swimming, but great access for kids, pets and kayaks/canoes. No dock, and too shallow for boat/jetski access. This property offered more amenities than what was advertised- we overpacked! Kitchen includes all necessary amenities and equipment for cooking, grilling, and dining (check propane as you do need to provide your own if it is empty). Cleaning supplies also located in the house- just recommend bringing extra paper products for a lengthier stay. House was equipped with a covered and uncovered porch with outdoor seating, clothesline for hanging things to dry, a firepit down by the water (bring your own wood), and plenty of yard space for outdoor games. The owner was very helpful, and easy to communicate with.
The only thing to keep in mind is that it was a bit difficult to find when first arriving, as the house number is quite hidden. When driving up, look for a small dirt driveway just past a line of bushes/small trees, and a house with a covered porch on the side! Also, the spiral stairs inside the house are quite narrow and steep. There is a bedroom downstairs for guests who are unable to climb stairs.
Had a great time and highly recommend staying at this property!
Our family had a wonderful time at this Lake Ontario camp. The water was crystal clear and the kids had such fun playing on the rocks and jumping in the waves. And we had many great wiffle ball games in the large yard. It was such a peaceful and relaxing trip. Would love to come back again.
Pictures did not include view from road and address number was missing.
Screen doors had holes in them and bugs trapped between screen and glass. No ventilation possible..
Spiral staircase was too tight for adults to get upstairs
Stepped on a bug when I entered.
Otherwise it was clean but damp and musty.
Actually chose to not stay at all as my family was not comfortable with the overall situation.
We enjoyed this lakeside house and everything it offered. The kitchen had a variety of items already there and sheets were bagged on each bed. It was a great spot for everyone in the family to play, BBQ, relax, and swim. There are many towns in the area for day trips or grocery trips. It was an enjoyable vacation and we would come back again.
Great family get away! Loved the property, the large front yard leading down to the waterfront.
Enjoyed the lake, spent time in the water. The sunrises were beautiful, grilled out and relaxed on the deck daily. Our family get away was great, everyone had a good time and loved this spot. We would definitely come back again.
