Staff were excellent â friendly and helpful throughout. Parking was ample and the hotel was easy to find. The room itself was a bit dated, with marks, scratch marks and rust on the bottom of the bathroom door. There were only towels for one person and one had what looked like a red stain, but when I went downstairs the staff quickly and happily provided fresh ones. The TV worked well, though there was no telephone in the room.
Lovely view of the bridge and river, and it was very quiet â didnât hear a thing from the room. The building has a slightly spooky, old-fashioned charm to it; definitely has that âold placeâ atmosphere.
Thereâs no lift, and itâs quite a walk through lots of long corridors, so itâs easy to get a bit lost.
I wouldnât say it was wonderful as described online, but the location was excellent.
