Booked last minute during cycling trip. Staff wentvout of their way to help with luggage and security of my bike. Room had everything and more including stocked fridge and microwave.
Arrived late and left very early as walking Hadrians Wall.
Had a very basic room, but it was everything i needed. Great to see breakfast cereal and fridge in room...
Room was reasonably clean and very warm.
Quite noisy with the bar downstairs and bed was rather lumpy. Only one pillow. Very difficult to fill the kettle from the tiny sink.
Very handy having the microwave and fridge.
The beds were unmade when we arrived. The member of staff was a bit odd when we asked for the beds to be made. The amenities and facilities were very poor for the cost of the room and we were quite disappointed
I wanted a low budget one night stay. Although property is old fashioned, my single room, with en suite was very clean and bed was comfortable
The breakfast cerea,l yogurt etc was an unexpected bonus. Kettle, microwave and fridge in room.
Member of staff on arrival friendly and helpful.
I couldnât get the tv to find any chanels, but not there long enough to enquire about it. Could do with a chair, but overall exactly what i wanted Thank you
Nice people, staff and the locals are welcoming but this Hotel is in Acomb Main Street not Hexham Main Street and it is wrongly identified as Hexham on ALL BOOKING sites. Acomb is an 10 minute drive or a dangerous 1 hour plus walk with one very busy road in your path. The hotel is basic but clean. No breakfast and no food after 8pm. To be fair it seems that many Hotels within a 12 mile radius of Hexham claim to actually be in Hexham and in most cases they're not so I suggest you phone first to check. In the case of Acomb there isn't much there so after 8pm its crisps and nuts if you can't get to Hexham. That this seems to be a common practice in this area isn't fair or clever and could quite seriously damage a vacation experience. Maybe the question is who's lie is it? The proprietors or the booking sites.
Les points faibles : Personnel et service et confort de la chambre
Disappointed.
Disappointing. No room service. No chair in room. One tiny 40 watt lamp and overhead fluorescent light. Had to turn sideways to get in bathroom. Shower too high to step in and scalding water. Breakfast instant oats in tub in room and croissant in packet from Tescos. No room service. Expensive for what was provided.
Booked last minute and being a 3star it really was exactly what I needed. Quiet and clean and managed to get a good night sleep.. lady at the reception and on the phone were spot on.. very nice. Brilliant having free parking on site and everything was contactless. Side door to get to the room and back out.. hassle free.
Walking Hadrians Wall so stayed here. Not on trail but only reasonably priced place available. About 5 miles from trail and ÂŁ7 in taxi from Wall. No hot food available and only continental breakfast in room. Pub has a shop so could buy cold bits. Local takeaway only other food option, at time, which delivered but was pretty awful and luke warm. Room small but ideal for solo traveller. Microwave and kettle provided. Small shower fitted in cupboard so tight to use so over 6ft forget it. Staff friendly enough.
I booked this last minute for some friends. I was unsure because when I saw it the first time the outside looked very run down, with damaged woodwork around the bay windows, BUT, they said the room was 'like a tardis' - it was very nice and comfortable, so much better than the outside would lead you to believe.
We stayed here when we were walking Hadrianâs wall path. The landlady was extremely helpful and we had a comfortable stay. Currently the pub doesnât do food but we had an Indian takeaway from the village.
The Queens arms was as aI had expected but the single room I rented had a very loose pillar tap and although me water for some time it was not hot . The wash basin is very small and overflows easily.. The television channels are difficult to operate but as with many paces the reception is variable.
