Big step down from few years since I stayed in this hotel. Lobby looks poor and stuff is some what friendly, however quiet business oriented. Restaurant management is strict and dry. Hostesses and waiters are nice and reasonable. Grounds around hotel are kept clean. Free parking is very big plus. Occasionally homeless people might approach you for money or cigarettes around the convenient store in front of this hotel.

When i book expedia it said balcony but gave no balcony extra cost, rooms are old with wall paper pealing and saw some roach come out behine tv table. Dusty around window and telephone no wiped. Only great was WS steakhouse

The hotel was in a very nice area in Hilo-on Banyan street where there is a row of big beautiful Banyon Trees. There is a really pretty Japanese park within walking distance. Coconut island is also a quick walk and a beautiful spot to enjoy. The dining options at the hotel are very nice. Staff is friendly

Older hotel, but great staff and location

Older hotel in a good location with free parking. Staff are super friendly and you can walk to a few beach parks and a park. They appear to be slowly renovating, but definitely needs some tlc. Our toilet sounded possessed, beds were just okay, and the ice machines were broken during our trip. This is our second time at this hotel and we’d probably stay here again.

It’s a good place to sleep, but they need to update a few things. Ice machines are on even floors, but no one tells you that, and then they don’t work. Neither do the vending machines. Signage would be helpful to tell us where to get ice.

There are very limited hotel accommodations in Hilo. The facility is old which is fine but it’s not being kept up well. Staff at front desk both at check in and check out were not welcoming or friendly. Housekeeping was very nice and did a great job. The groundskeepers also were around tidying and cleaning. The elevator smelled horrendous as was filthy. The out buildings where fitness center is located are crumbling… literally. Our room was clean on the surface but we noticed mold in the wallpaper our last day. It’s mediocre at best.
The view is the best amenity.
