Check-in/Front desk and Valet staff are friendly, professional and efficient. The room is clean, well appointed (mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker). The only two issues are the bathroom barn (door doesn’t glide well) and the patio door (only opened two inches wide). We did not inform staff as we managed to deal with it for our two night stay (one of which was pouring rain so moot point for the patio door). Otherwise, stay was good.

My family and I recently stayed at the Grand Naniloa Hotel, we had a great stay. Checking in was easier than expected & the welcome cookies were delicious! My kids and I returned to the reservation desk every day to grab more. There were many perks included in the reservations: 2 rounds of golf, drinks, various discounts on tours. We wanted to stay longer to enjoy the outdoor amenities, but the rain was a bit much. I think a summer visit is in our future. My only issue is that the room was not as clean as I would have liked. The rooms are older, there were stains on the wall, and the toilet was not clean.

Very disappointed. We stayed 6 nights and the room we were allocated had a significant leak in the bathroom and there was a strong smell of damp and mould. The front desk asked maintenance to fix the leak but it did not resolve and we had to change rooms. The first room should never have been given to a guest in the first place. We only ever received a proper housekeeping service on just 1 day of our stay, despite flagging with the front desk each day and having been noted as requesting daily housekeeping. Still got charged the full daily resort fee and valet parking regardless. Not a great experience given the price we were paying. Would recommend staying elsewhere. Rather than offering free golf for guests (which we did not use) would much more value at least the basics being done well ie housekeeping and staff service.

The positives: great view of the bay and the landscape. The room size is pretty good and was clean The negatives: The property is quite old. The sliding due to the Lanai was so hard to slide(it needed some grease 😊). There is only one restaurant with limited menu options; Above all the service is very poor, especially for breakfast and in the lounge. We tried to get some late bites at the lounge which is supposed to be open for food till 11 pm but the bar tenders at the lounge seemed uninterested in helping customers. The menu options were extremely limited.

First the ocean view is misleading, it should be bay view where you will view the parking lot under and mountain far across the bay. The room is small and not well isolated. The shower/tube has large window toward the bed. Almost on isolation both light and sound from the bathroom. Elevator is old and malfunctioning, not well maintained. Got in the elevator from first floor, it skipped all the destinations and directly went to the top floor (12) for no reason. People had to get off the elevator on the way down. It happened multiple times during my stay. House keeping, provided wrong coffee cup one day that does not match with cap and caused spill on my shirt. Valet parking is under staffing, always have to line up and wait.

Very nice hotel . We stayed there with our kids and enjoyed the breakfast and dinner at the hotel. Hilo is a small town with not much to do . The hotel is 30 minutes from the volcanos national park and 2-3 minutes from the downtown.

The room was very clean & the housekeeping staff did an excellent job every day. The view out of our balcony door was spectacular! The beds were uncomfortable & the shower never had hot water so I don’t feel that it was a great place to stay. upon checked in, we had a very unpleasant experience that did not meet the level standards of your hotel. 1) When we checked in, we stood at the counter for 50 minutes, not counting the waiting time. From 18:45pm to 19:35pm, why was your front desk staff not efficient? You had someone who didn't know how to operate a computer at the front desk to check the room and ask colleagues and two supervisors twice for every operation. 2) As the later supervisor, Luke returned to the office for the first time and looked disdainful when asked one more question. Even though he was called out by the receptionist to operate later and I asked him to complain, he was impatient, lacked professional ethics, and did not match his title as a supervisor. 3) During our waiting period, a few people rushed up next to us. The gentleman at the front desk applied for room cards for them first. Isn't that First Come First Serve? Why are we asked to apologize and give Hawaiian Chocolate as gifts to them? Is it because my guest holds a Chinese passport? You have suspicions of discrimination, we have posted yesterday's feelings online for everyone to comment on and see how you have made a 'Christmas that we will never forget'! We have stayed at many hotels in the "Doubletree by Hilton" series, and even in Honolulu, we have never been treated like this. We will definitely file a complaint and have the public comment on this matter.
