Nice old vintage inn that's been upgraded to modern beds and bathrooms. Still has period furnishings whereever it makes sense. Owners are the staff and are very attentive.
Absolutely love this Bed & Breakfast. This was my 3rd time there and will be going back soon. Everything is a 5 star and they go beyond to make sure everything is perfectâŠ.Love Love Love â€ïž
My friend and I stayed here for two nights in the Granny Smith room and it was perfect. Clean and very cozy. The owners and staff were so accommodating and friendly and warm. Good ole midwestern people! If you love old historical quaint homes to stay in, this should be at the top of your list!! And the area is in a perfect location for cute and quaint shops in towns like Saugatuck and Douglas and Holland and South Haven and of course Lake Michigan and lighthouses!! There are also fruit orchards and wineries. We came in early November and enjoyed it all!! Just would have liked to sit out on the beautiful front porch at Kingsley but a bit too cold! Next time!!
The Granny Smith room, bathroom was so small that, you had to open the entry door to get into the shower.
I talked to Chuck the owner, about the leaking shower head and he was non- chalant about the matter. Those drops from the leaking shower are irritating.
He should have made me aware and I would have decline and found a hotel.
Stephanie, house keeping was very good and honest.
Chuck needs to display more customer service skill and offer customers seconds on breakfast if its available and not having them to ask.
There was nothing to dislike. The Kingsley was a beautiful building with equally beautiful landscaping. Our hosts were very friendly & accommodating. Loved our room-our bed was so comfortable.
Not worth the money. There are other properties in Fennville that are a lot nicer for less. The owner is patronizing at best, but maybe better described as antagonistic. The room we booked was a redone attic filled with creepy old photos and even a wedding dress hanging in the closet. The shower is low, difficult to use and leaks outside the tub. For breakfast I expected a variety of options like at most BnBs, or maybe they could ask beforehand if you have preferences. Instead, itâs four set courses only after 9:00, two of which I politely declined. The waitress then called me a âpicky eaterâ and sent the owner / chef out to talk with me. So weird.
Guy running the place was over the top and made us feel pretty uncomfortable. Service overall was good but he had some rants that tainted the entire experience. The food was good and room was OK (Granny Smith room). Liked the old fashioned look and feel and it had some nice touches (games, extra toiletries, etc) but the owner needs some lessons in reading the room and making his guests feel at home.
We loved our stay at the Kingsley House! All the staff were amazing! Our room was comfortable and clean and the food was delicious! Great location and plenty of stuff to do in the area. We would surely stay with Chuck and Sally again!
We stayed in a suite located in the basement. The suite itself was very clean, but the stairwell down had a moldy odor. Also the property had not been trimmed, and ended up getting work done Friday and Saturday evening, which is and odd time for landscaping. The only complaint about our room directly was the showerhead was low pressure. I'm bald but my wife has really thick hair and it's hard to rinse with low pressure.
This is a beautiful well kept large old house with a delightful staff that was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast were very good and the location is just a short drive to vineyards, orchards and the shops in Saugatuck.
Even though we arrived a day early, Chuck was able to accommodate us. We made the mistake of booking the hotel for the wrong night. The place was charming. The breakfast was amazing. The people were friendly and helpful.
Chuck & staff were great. Food was wonderful. Close to Saugatuck-Douglas area for activities & dinning, but without the crowds. Beautiful grounds. Walkable to local restaurants.
