Room was as described. Bed was very comfortable. Very convenient spot in walking distance to many places. Easy to do public transportation if you choose to use that. Food trucks were right across the street and had so many different varieties of food to choose from. We ate something different every night. It was perfect after a long day of touring , you can walk right across the street and eat or bring it back to your stay. Thank you Sonya for everything you had available for us to use in case we forgot something you had it there. Sonya is a great hostess and replies very quickly should you have any questions. Would definitely stay there again. Oh by the way the view of the mountains from our room was AWESOME!

Everything was great. Sonya supplied lots of information up front. She responded to questions quickly. The apartment includes a kitchen which we didn’t use but nice to have the option. Room was clean and extreamly well stocked. She even has a buggy to haul toys, towels, sunscreen. Pop up tent and boogy boards to the beach. Excellent location, and great value. If we get back to Oahu we will plan far enough in advance to book this room again

Location, view, and a very responsive host! Although the space is small, it is designed thoughtfully. The beach cart, umbrellas, and cooking implements are very helpful. One word of warning to the very tall: the ceilings are quite low.

The places so awesome!.The location, amenities are the stand out. Very proxy to the beach and pretty much had all facilities!. I would recommend this property for young couples considering the distance to the Waikīkī beach. Rental cars are easily accessible, that way you can explore the island!.

This was the perfect place for our family vacation. The view from the room is stunning and exactly what we were looking for. The room was very clean and cozy. What makes this place extra special is the host, Sonya. She is so warm and responsive, making us feel like we were staying at a friend's home. Our Host Sonya did a wonderful job at creating a safe & warm environment for us to celebrate my granddaughter's 10th Birthday trip. We enjoyed our stay & will definitely be returning next year. Easy access to the beach, shops, dining & many food truck options directly across the street. The studio has books & everything u can possibly need for a day at the beach. We used her snorkeling gear, towels, sunblock, and many other items she provided & past guests left behind. Our stay was wonderful & stress free. I highly recommend staying here & enjoying everything Waikiki has to offer. Aloha .....Lupe & kids

We had a good stay at this budget-friendly studio apartment. The location was perfect for our trip—right between the beach and our family further inland—and we especially loved having the food trucks just across the street.The space is quite a bit more cluttered than the photos suggest, but it was well-stocked with essentials. We appreciated being able to cook a simple meal using the hot plate, and the A/C kept the apartment comfortably cool. The linens were clean, and the view from the unit is beautiful.Our 14-year-old slept on an air mattress, which took up most of the floor space in front of the fridge. The listing says it sleeps four, but be aware that the setup is tight: one person would need to sleep on a foam cot in the entryway/hallway, and another on the floor, which makes opening the fridge impossible and difficult to get to the bathroom.The bathroom appeared clean, though we did catch our feet a few times on the chipping linoleum.Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place to someone with high expectations for space or aesthetics—but for a budget stay, it served its purpose well.The host was very kind and responsive, which we really appreciated.

Lovely small room

Loved the location! Loved the food truck courtyard just across the street. The room is small, but we fit our group of 4. Just picked up the futon/air mattress during the day, and we were more out than in. Sonya was a very helpful host, giving lots of great info for any of my questions. Room was clean. Oh, and the beach wagon with beach chairs, sand toys and snorkels was amazing!

Everything you need and more

The property was well stocked with whatever you could imagine you might need - from sunscreen and bodyboards to saran wrap and peanut butter. Inside, it was spotless - we walked around without shoes. Parking in Waikiki was an experience, but no worse than many big cities - just read the signs carefully! Sonya gave us some tips that allowed us to not pay a dime for parking for our entire trip; as a plus, the walk back along the canal after parking on Ala Wai Blvd is pretty fun and full of sights to see - crabs and fish in the water; canoe crews practicing on the river.

Just right, excellent value!

Sonya is an excellent, attentive and caring host! Hale Honu Kai is the perfect little getaway for 2, especially if you're on a budget. The price was right, and the room had all we needed for a home base during our 2 week adventure on Oahu. Sonya thought of just about everything! She provides enough kitchen supplies to help you enjoy some meals in the room and save money on having to go out for every meal. She even supplies beach items, including snorkel gear - a MUST in Hawaii. If you forgot first aid items, or ran out of your travel shampoo, no matter, it's all there! The rental comes with pool/jacuzzi/grill patio access too. Great for a night cap dip or relaxation. The mountain and cityscape views from the room are excellent to wake up to each morning. I could go on, but her listing really does speak for itself, between the photos and the detailed list of amenities. In summation, I can't recommend Sonya enough, and we certainly plan to book with her again. :)

GREAT PLACE TO STAY NEAR WAIKIKI

The place was really comfortable, and even it was too hot in the outside, the apartment kept cool all times by only opening the windows (we didn't use the AC). The place is just as advertized, cozy place with beatufil views and in a good neighborhood to stay. I travelled with my husband and daughter. We spent most of our time outside in the beaches so the snorkeling equipment that was in the apartment was really helpfull. Sonya was really nice, she had a detail for our little one that make her too happy. All instructions for the check in were clear so we didn't have any trouble. I highly recommend Sonya Place for staying in Waikiki area.
