I was expecting a lot given previous reviews but can’t give this 9 or 10 out of 10 like others.
There is ample underground parking which is great. Check-in was straightforward and the receptionist was very helpful.
Previous reviews rated cleanliness as excellent which is one of the reasons I chose Maze apartments. However it was let down by a really grubby looking stained tea towel which should have been binned. The first glass I took out of the cupboard had lots of fingerprint marks and something stuck to it so I took out and washed everything. We were in a studio so had our own small kitchen area.
The bathroom had a soap dispenser which I thought was empty. The next day the receptionist, who appeared to have to do everything on her own and was quite busy, filled it up for us. Part of it fell off the wall when she did so and subsequently fell off the wall when I tried. Plus it did not dispense the soap. I was going to report it on check out but no-one was around.
The bed is very low and extremely soft. Felt like being in a water bed when you tried to turn around in it ( remember them 😁)
There was a nice armchair in the room if you wanted to sit and watch TV but a second person needs to use one of the hard seats at the breakfast area or dressing table.
Provision of a hairdryer in the room would have been useful but perhaps there was one to request at reception
On a positive note, the apartment generally was very clean and it’s close to the docks if you are travelling.
