I made this booking months in advance for the Spring season off peak season and I really wanted a hot tub to chill and relax in after being out most of the day. It was listed as a hot tub but really was a jetted section of the pool that was listed as ER 50 extra per day to be heated. My 25 year old son walked to the beach in the morning to swim the hot tub was for me and his 76 year old aunt so we could relax after long days of sightseeing. The villa was very beautiful and George and his wife were very nice but when someone planned for something that was in the listings then it needs to be accurate. Also a washer and dryer was listed but the dryer was locked up in the basement of the house. If I’m going to spend seven days in a house I would like to wash my clothes before I leave. I spent seven days there and never got in the pool and the jetted area ( that’s not a hot tub) never heated up enough to enjoy. Removing the word hot tub off the listing after I had paid and arrived at the property is not the best option for accommodation for the current tenants. The area is absolutely gorgeous, stunning and I would visit again but I would also choose a property that actually has a real hot. What she has may very well be suited for the hot summer months and I would encourage anyone who isn’t afraid of steep hill and want a gorgeous beach and views of Crete that is absolutely breathtaking to give it a visit but please be aware of the discrepancies. Also we would like to thank George.

Lovely House

This house was perfect for our family holiday with our 3 grown up children. Everyone had their own space yet we were able to have great meals, swims, watch films, play pool together etc. The views from the house are amazing. It helps if you have a car whilst staying here. Aswell as eating in, we also ate out alot and never had a bad meal. Most restaurants are good if you like mediterranean food. We loved going into the small village of Koutsouras which is just about an 8 minute drive from the house with a cute little beach and great Tavernas. The Big Blue Beach Bar also does great breakfasts. Thank you Anna for bringing over a lovely homebaked apple cake which was delicious. We have a swimming pool at home and my husband is very fussy about the cleanliness of it and will not let anybody go in a pool until he has tested it. This house pool was the cleanest he has known. Everything is well looked after and we would recommend.

Very nice home with a couple issues

Villa Ariadne is a beautiful home with a great view of the sea. We liked the quick walk to the beach and the wonderful pool. Air conditioners in the bedrooms were great for us as we’re used to a/c. Stela also stocked the fridge and pantry with food which was a nice surprise. It sleeps 8 in beds, so one of our guests slept on a couch, but I suppose we could have fit ten if someone else took another couch. The hot water was spotty and worked sometimes, so large parties may have issues. The road to the property is a bit treacherous so need to be careful with large vehicles.

Fantastically well equipped villa with spectacular views

The villa is vast with a great pool table and small gym. The terrace has great views of the sea as does the balcony. A short walk down a steep hill to the beach and a welcoming bar and restaurant. There are a number of other excellent restaurants a short drive away and further afield there is plenty to do - we rented a boat from Agios Nikalaos. Stella was on hand with any issue you may have (although we had none) and with some good suggestions of where to go and what to see. I would highly recommend the villa and the wonderful Stella.

Even more stunning than the photographs. Accommodating 4 couples with plenty of room. Lovely swimming pool and jacuzzi. Amazing outdoor dining area with bbq facilities and also an oven. Stunning views. I never got tired of looking at the views everyday. Villa was in great location with sea views.Stella the host was so friendly and could not do enough for us. Was there if we needed anything and was extremely generous.

Excellent villa & host

Lovely stay at the villa. There were 3 adults and 4 teens so plenty of room for us in the villa and around the pool. Stella was an excellent host, always available to assist us with queries. The odd issue was resolved immediately. Would definately recommend a car as the villa is in a very quiet location and the cost of taxis added up over the week. The beach was nice, just a 5 minute walk and has beach bar and basic restaurant there. We got takeaway delivered from Obelix pizza which was tasty and very reasonable. The welcome groceries were brilliant and really appreciated. Much more than a few basics. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay and the home baked apple cake from Stellas mum.

Fantastic villa! The views are beautiful and you can even hear the sea from the villa.

Beautiful property, great host and truly a relaxing getaway.

Do not let the travel time from airport to villa put you off booking this property, car hire was quick and easy and the roads safe and quiet and parking at the villa. Set in a beautiful location, 5 minutes walk to the beach which has a wonderful taverna and great food. A few local shops around and a supermarket just a 20 minute drive away. George was there to greet us on arrival and was very welcoming. Whilst we did not require any additional assistance during our trip, he was always just a call away. The fridge was full of food and drinks which was a great added touch after a long days travelling. There is everything you could ask for at the villa, that we rarely felt the need to venture out. There is a golden sandy beach just a 10 minute drive with cafes and sun beds and ideal for kids with shallow waters. We hope to return in the future with family! Cannot recommend highly enough!

Lovely villa in a quiet location with fantastic views.

Beautiful villa and great location. Villa had everything you need. Only Critisism is that the pool is very steep from the shallow end and difficult to stand up without slipping. It appears a theme in Greece and I don’t understand why it drops away so quickly from 0.6m to 2.0m. Minor detail and didn’t spoil out stay.

Sept 2020 villa Ariane

Just back from our two holiday at villa Adriane. With all the stress of coronavirus it was perfect. A beautiful home with plenty of wow factor. The pictures are very accurate. We were there with our three grown up children and their partners and for the first time ever - no arguments over bedrooms. All four en-suite and of the same high standard. George and Anna were perfect hosts. There if we needed them and Stella on the phone In Athens with perfect English. Anna’s legendary apple cake and one night she even cooked for the eight of us. Thank you. It’s been an incredibly difficult summer for Crete with Covid but we felt much safer in Acilia than back here in England. With uncertainty over travel George and Anna were willing to leave the Payment right until the last few days. In fact due to a problem with the HomeAway website we weren’t able to pay the balance until we arrived. So thank you for that. In these uncertain times it was very reassuring. So much to recommend but our highlight was the day we rented a private boat. Recommended by George - I think it’s his cousin. It cost 1400 euros and that was reduced but between 8 of us it wasn’t so bad. Amazing day - delicious food and wine from start to finish and an hour all to ourselves on Chrisie Island. Must mention the barbecue and pizza oven. Great fun. The children even cooked. Thanks again George, Anna and Stella The connell famiky.

We had a wonderful time at the beautiful villa , it was exactly as shown on home away. The facilities were second to none and the family who rent it are very friendly and very helpful. The beach is just a short walk below And is lovely too with very friendly serving staff. I would strongly recommend this villa and location to anyone.

Superb villa and great hospitality

Our feedback for this holiday was five star....from initial queries, through booking, paying, arriving and leaving. Stella, Anna and George made everything easy and nothing was too much trouble. George and Anna's hospitality was outstanding, not only being there to welcome us and bid us farewell, but bringing us a wonderful homemade Greek meal on Sunday and then a delicious apple cake later in the week. We took their recommendations for Airport Transfers and Car Hire and everything went very smoothly. The villa lived up to our expectations, it was every bit as stunning as the pictures show. The kitchen was very well equipped up and had been stocked up with everything that we could need for the first few days of our holiday. The villa was immaculate and was kept so with the pool area being cleaned daily and the beds and linens changed every few days. All four bedrooms were even sized and had en-suite, so there were no arguments as to who got which room. We spent most of our time around the pool - really appreciating the comfortable loungers and also the large shaded area. We also enjoyed the fitness equipment in the cellar and especially the pool table. Although there are a beach and a couple of tavernas within walking distance we would definitely recommend having a car - for visits to the Supermarket and a wider variety of restaurants. We would definitely recommend Villa Ariadne for anyone wanting a relaxing holiday with top quality accommodation!

Great Place - will be back!

We can’t say enough about our hosts George and Anna. From the well stocked refrigerator upon our arrival to Anna‘s fantastic home made apple pie and of course the Cretan “refreshment” raki, well it made the trip from Heraklion airport worth it. The home was beautiful, well outfitted and sparkling clean. Amazing view of the Agean sunrise from the pool deck. Short 5-10 minute walk to beach below. The pool was clean and refreshing! The biggest compliment we can give is that we are recommending this VRBO to our children and grandchildren so they may enjoy some Cretan hospitality as well. Δεν μπορούμε να πούμε αρκετά καλά για την Άννα και τον Γεωργών!!!! Το ψυγείο ήταν γεμάτο, το σπίτι έλαμπε, η μυλοπητα της Αννας τόσο ωραία και η Ρακη ένα ωραίο αναψυκτικό!!!!!! Η πήδημα ήταν ολοκάθαρη και ωραία!!! Ήταν ένα από τα ποιο ωραία μέρη που έχουμε μήνη!!!! Όταν είδαν φωτογραφίες τα παιδιά μας θέλουν να έλθουν μάζη με τα εγγόνια μας να απολαύσουνε την Κριτηκη φιλοξενία!!!!! Πολλά ευχαριστώ στην Άννα και στον Γεωγω για ένα ευχάριστο ταξειδη!!!!!

Absolutely the very best!

I have nothing but praise and adoration for Ana and George, sweet Abigailia and the entire property. The house was exquisite. So well appointed, clean, comfortable, and beautiful we literally never left. We walked down to the beach twice and at dinner at the local taverna twice but that was it. The property was too amazing to leave! And that’s saying something because Crete is beautiful and even the local beach was beautiful! The views from the pool are spectacular and can be seen from all over the property. The pool area is amazing. The game room is great. Plenty of space. Plenty of bathrooms. Fabulous showers with lots of good hot water. Ice maker in the fridge. And the fridge. ... fully stocked with beautiful fruit, milk, eggs, etc. the very best hospitality and the very place run by the very best people. We will definitely be back next year. We never wanted to leave and I wanted to make George and Ana and Abigailia part of my own family. Best people ever. Please book this place. You will love every inch and every second of it.

Perfect Villa!!

We had an unforgettable holiday in a beautiful villa. It had everything we needed, plenty or room for my son to learn to crawl, a generous sized pool for my daughter to learn to swim, the conditional of the villa is immaculate, the outdoor cooking area is fantastic, and the kitchen is well stocked with every item you could need. George and Anna were very welcoming, and arriving to a stocked fridge and cupboards certainly eases your arrival!!! The sunrises from the balcony over the coast is breathtaking.
