We were greeted with local hard cider and a very clean home. The home features unique art and many books that were fun to look at. No time for reading though. We spent our time on the slopes.
This is a truly beautiful place, and it's extremely conveniently-located to the Interlochen Center For the Arts. We had a magnificent time and we were very well taken care of. We look forward to hopefully staying here again!
The house is nice and has lots of character. The deck and yard area are really nice and well-maintained.A few issues:- The listing indicates "water access on Green Lake with mooring available". You cannot swim or moor the boat within walking distance of the house.- The grill was not cleaned before we arrived- There are no beach towels available for use, so you'll have to buy them upon arrival or bring your own- Very limited soap and toilet paper provided
We would definitely stay in this home again if ever in the Traverse area. Very comfortable and lots of space for our group of 7 adults. Absolutely beautiful setting - loved the deck, fire pit area and large front porch with the swing! It is so peaceful! We loved it!!
Great cabin- conveniently close to interlochen arts academy and green lake. Charming personal touches and art throughout. Well stocked kitchen. Comfortable beds. Wonderful outdoor spaces.
So quiet and peaceful. The property was clean and well maintained. Definitely browse the bookshelves for some hidden gems. Would stay here again without hesitation!
We rented this house even though it was just two of us. We like the location for the serenity, even though it is in a neighborhood. The house had everything we need and everything was in working order. Host communications was prompt and easy. One suggestion would be to start building a binder with area restaurants, things to do, grocery stores, etc. Firewood was plentiful but needs to be split into smaller logs for easier burning.
The log cabin was the perfect end of summer trip for our family. Every corner of the cabin was cozy and inviting. Spent the mornings drinking coffee sitting on the front porch. Whether it was the bedrooms, bathrooms or kitchen, everything was well thought out for visitors. The location was perfect for visiting both Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. We would definitely stay here again.
We decided last minute to head up to MI for a family weekend. This cabin was absolutely perfect! It was the perfect size for the six of us. The kitchen was big enough for all to lend a hand at meals, had a great outdoor area for grilling and eating, and plenty of room at the table (inside or out) for some friendly board/card game competition!
This cabin is so charming and unique, Troy was amazing, and we were close to everything we wanted to explore. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We highly recommend it, and we will definitely be back!
Thank you, Cabin in the Woods for adding to our family holiday weekend :)
The cabin is very well maintained and very quiet and private. The beds were comfortable and we slept great. It is about a 2 minute walk to the lake, but it is not a sandy shore. So really only useful if you want to take a boat out. Also be sure to bring games or lawn games if you want things to do at the house. Certain lights did not work during our stay, but the owner was there when we got there and was very apologetic and it was not a huge deal. Overall enjoyed our stay.
Overall we (6 adults, a teen and a 5yo) were really pleased with our stay at the "Cabin in the Woods". This is a home that has obviously been remodeled into a log cabin (both outside and in). Interestingly there are several other homes in the neighborhood that look very similar to it. It is beautifully landscaped with many flowers and decorative plants. It has 4 nice sized bedrooms and a spacious family/TV area, a large table (6 chairs with table) and nice-sized kitchen. We very much enjoyed our week-long stay there.
Pros:
* Wonderful front porch along the entire front of the house on which to sit and read or just enjoy the woods across the road. The neighborhood is mostly quiet and next door neighbors at a reasonable distance so you barely notice them.
* Large TV in the family room and smaller one in one of the upstairs bedrooms. They have a Roku that allows you to sign in with any steaming services you have.
* Kitchen is fairly spacious with a nice double sink. Appliances, including dishwasher, work well.
* Nice area for grilling and campfire in back yard with a fairly large deck and a picnic table in the yard. The grill is clean and the fire pit is great with lots of wood present.
* Plumbing works well. Bath/shower on ground floor is old but works well. Shower insert in upstairs bathroom is nice.
* It has an amazing number of books taking up entire walls of the home. It was just fun to look through the titles.
* There are nice paths through the neighborhood on which to
Stayed here for our daughters wedding at blue bridge event center, perfect location. Troy was an awesome host and super attentive. Would definitely return!
Excellent location, well appointed and spacious log cabin
Cabin in the Woods is a short walk to to a members dock/beach, and is just 1.5 miles to Interlochen Performing Arts. We saw Elvis Costello last minute at outdoor pavilion right on the lake. The cabin has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths and loft area. Nice kitchen with everything you would need. Excellent access to Traverse City, Empire, Sleeping Bear Dunes and more. Slept 8 comfortably. Grocery store just a few miles away. We definitely recommend this cabin.
The Cabin in the Woods exceeded our expectations! Beautiful setting, quiet neighborhood, close to attractions. The pictures donât do the cabin justice. Itâs absolutely stunning! The management company and owners are very responsive and friendly. We couldnât ask for a better stay! Donât hesitate on booking this property!
Cabin in a great location that allows you to travel around Traverse City and surrounding area. Provides privacy for a family. Good local eats available. Fire pit had plenty of available firewood. Would definitely stay again.
Home was perfect location for exploring the area. shopping and food choices within 10-12 miles. Wonderful Toms Grocery 2 miles away.
House was very comfortable but pretty dark on the insdie. Kitchen especially dark as under cabinet lights did not work.. Overall a nice property, grounds well maintained and everything you might need was provided.
The property was well kept, and we made ourselves at home when staying here. Easy access to everything the area has to offer in the Interlochen and Traverse City area.
