Good location . Standard room a bit out dated . Not worth ÂŁ160 for one night . Breakfast standard , cooked to order. Can be busy if they are catering for weddings .
When it says Waterside, that is exactly what they mean; it is on the bank of the Ness river. The hotel has a very family owned, and hospitible atmosphere and the river provides a great setting for walks into the heart of Inverness.
The location of the hotel was fabulous and parking facility great. The young gentleman who checked me in was a delight...the lady who checked me out was anything but! She hardly looked at me, took a call (without apology) and neither asked me about my stay or even said goodbye. The room was basic and the decor very dated. The toilet needed cleaned as did the floor in the toilet. It served our purpose but I was a little disappointed overall.
Stayed in this hotel for one night due to having an event at Eden court. Fast check in and lovely room ideal for anyone using Eden court walk to it in under 5 minutes and only a 5 minute walk to the shopping centre and town with plenty to do
We had two nights at the Waterside Hotel and the location was great for Inverness. We could walk everywhere and our room, although in the next door building was really nice with great views over the River Ness.
The area was lovely. To be honest it was an average hotel. The issue was as we asked for a superior room. The carpet had several stains but the double bed was 2 single beds put together using double/ king size sheets. The mattress on one side was awful it squeaked the whole night you just needed to move a little and it made a noise.
We informed the reception staff in the morning, they said the would check it out.
Experience was good as a warm welcome was received when we checked in fairly late on Friday evening. Breakfast experience vastly different on two mornings - Saturday heaven but Sunday hell! Overall a pleasant stay.
First visit to the Waterside, hopefully not our last. Rooms are clean, well equipped and comfortable. Dining in the restaurant is a joy with well balanced menus to choose from at reasonable prices.
We were lucky and got a room with a great view over River Ness. The room was huge. The room was like your own bedroom except much bigger and with the biggest double bed I have ever slept in. We did not dine in the hotel in the evening but judging by the way it was very busy it was probably good. Breakfast was advertised as a buffet, but was actually a mixture of buffet and ordered food. Grilled Kippers. Excellent. Inverness and some good pubs are only a short walk away.
