Fascinating and beautiful mornings with clear view over the Bosohorus, sunsparkle on the water in the mornings, fascinating views, day and night, of ships and watercraft, freighters to ferries to private boats -- as many as 15-20 vessels in view at some moments. The apartment has an unobstructed view of the waterside and ferry terminal a ross the street! Recommended!
The Positves:
Location to transport links, some key places of interests Asia side and views of the Bosphorus is excellent.
Rooms are spacious and kitchen well equipped.
Beds were comfortable.
Hotwater was good and excellent flow.
Emir- the owner was excellent with pre-arrival communication.
The Negatives:
Stench from the bathrooms spoilt our 7 days stay. We requested bleech, but this made no difference.
Noise from the major street traffic was continuous 24 hours. We could not keep the front window facing the Bosphorous open.
The operation of the tv was complex. We had to ask the check-in person to visit and show us how to do it.
The settees need cleaning and the mat under the settees is warped. We tripped on it a few times. It needs replacing. An accident waiting to happen!
Walls and some areas need repainting. Example - in the hall-way and kitchen.
There was no essential information for guests in the apartment like what to do in emergency.
No lift to the 2nd floor, so not suitable for people who have physical mobility challenges.
The Check-In process was done in haste. The gentleman did not show us around the apartment, how to use the equipment.
He just told us about how the wifi works and location of 2 local shops, then he left. It was rushed!
The apartment was a good size, very clean and with a great view. Its location is right on the tram line and across from one of the ferry stations. There was no water dispenser, but a shop to pick up and resupply is about 200m away. The wifi needed rebooting occasionally but worked ok otherwise. The manager's husband was very helpful when needed. My only suggestion to the host would be to have kitchen towels handy to avoid paper towel waste.
