I’d like the condition of the room, it was clean and very well taken care of. The hotel in my opinion is an old rundown mess. There was leaky ceiling spots above the pool with plaster coming off the ceiling and the pool heater was broken. The water was ice cold. I was there for the bike ride in new Bern and I’m glad for the convenient location, but I just think the condition of the hotel There was also a blue flashing light outside my window, when I brought it up to the desk personnel, she said she knew about it, but didn’t know what was wrong with it. So no one was doing anything to fix it.

There was lots of construction in the surrounding area. Also, I didn't think it was a particularly nice area. The breakfasts were very good with a good variety from which to choose. The hotel was clean. My biggest complaint was the toilet! It was the height of the ones in a kindergarten! It was so low that I had to grab the sink to get up. I am 78 but I don't have this problem. The attendant said that the handicap rooms have higher toilets but there are only FOUR of those. It should be offered up front. That was miserable!

When I got to the hotel they made me pay a extra $50 I didn’t know I had to pay.. I already paid for my 1 night stay. $170 .. This wasn’t my first time staying at this hotel. In April I stayed at this same hotel and I didn’t have to pay the extra money

Right after checking in, we found a german cockroach crawling on my wife while she was feeding my daughter. We had to change rooms at midnight, and never offerer anything for the inconvenience.

The staff were wonderful. No complaints at all with any of them. The property needs some updating and the cleanliness was a little remiss. I found a soda can in a corner under a chair that did not belong to us. The beds were also made haphazardly. The neighborhood was a little sketchy but that is no one's fault.
