The room itself is very nice, however the bathroom door is a sliding barn door leaving large gaps on either end. This is exacerbated by the mirror on the wall giving a direct view through the gaps. Not very well designed for privacy while using the washroom.

I had two very different experiences at this hotel, so I’m giving it a 3/5. The first part of my stay (from booking to check-in) was genuinely great. I requested a baby crib through a third-party site, and the hotel replied the next day. They couldn’t guarantee it since I was still a week away, but told me to follow up on arrival. I did, and the crib was already set up in the room when we got there. At check-in, there were no luggage carts available due to the crowd, but a staff member went out of his way to look for some and came back with two within minutes. That effort really stood out. The warm indoor pool in December was also a pleasant surprise, since most hotels close theirs for winter. So that entire first phase felt like a solid 5/5. The second part of the stay dropped the score. Breakfast was disappointing; I’ve had better at lower-rated hotels. Parking was advertised as free self-parking, yet we were charged $10/day even though there were plenty of open spaces. That felt misleading. The biggest issue was the shower: no hot water the entire time, only warm. It was Christmas time, freezing outside, and coming back to a lukewarm shower after walking around NYC with kids was not acceptable. So overall, great staff effort and first impression, but breakfast quality, parking charges, and lack of hot water need to be fixed before I’d return.
