I gave a overall rating of 2 because of cleanliness and communication.
Cleanliness- I specifically asked the host if it’s going to be clean because I read another review that said they found a dog fur on the couch and the utensils were dirty. For me, I walked around the house without my shoes and my feet got really dirty so surprised to see that they didn’t mop the floor AND the utensils and pans were not clean at all, so I went to Vons to grab plastic spoon, cup, dishes because I didn’t want to use unclean dishes.
Communication- To be honest, I never met a host who didn’t give me the instructions until 1 hr before arriving the unit. Normally, other hosts give me thorough instructions the day before or early morning so I can know what to expect, but this one gave me the instructions like 30min before arrival, which made me feel bit anxious. When I got to the property, I wasn’t sure if I can use the parking lot, so I texted the host, who didn’t reply. As I was reading instructions in the folder, I saw another number so I gave a call. A guy picked up and was extremely rude and told me that parking is “off limits” for guests. He sounded upset that I even asked a question, so I clarified that “there was no instructions so I wanted to ask” and he kept repeating “off limits” which made me feel like I did something wrong when I am paying this guy or the host to stay here. RUDE! Anyways, the female host was nice but the male host was really rude.
Home itself- home itself was okay. Nothing too special. The living room is very dark so be aware. I felt like there was not enough light.
